1. for me, the bass was finished 3 or 4 weeks after the neck carving. so shouldn't be too long now and surely, SURELY you can borrow a camera for the trip??
2. for me it'd be a friends '78 blonde all original jazz bass. truly gorgeous and plays like warm butter i've never liked any fenders, but LOVED one another one that might count is a bass surgery (is that right?), you know the £15,000 super sculpted things. truly beautiful creations and so light, thin and ergonomicaly shaped that it doesn't feel like your holding anything at all! a very interesting experience i must say!
3. booty-full bass mate! out of curiosity, whats the reasoning behind your username?
4. it's an international series Never really hear bad things about Peavey, and all the ones i've played have been very good. so i'd assume it's pretty good.
5. i would love to get one of these going again. but have no money. if you fancy it though i have a Glock 2x12 (600w, 4ohm) to offer. as a direct comparison to the Schroeder (i had both at the same time, so could compare them directly), it's a similar sorta volume per watt, slightly clearer highs, less of a mid bump and with similar low end.
6.
I had to do a double take on that one... I kept looking and thinking 'that bridge isn't right'; never gave the scale of a 12" speaker next to a 'W' Thumb a thought
ha ha! yeah that had me going for a while as well!
7. oh yes? i know the area reasonably well. i'm from just outside Haverfordwest There's a few Pembrokeshire locals on here. so your in good company I don't recognize your band names, but i'm appauling at remembering things like that. are you more of a pub/club or free party player? and do you venture down to the Haford area at all?
8. i bought mine for £75 and sold it for £75. i'm gutted a couple of reasons as not only did i miss out on making a big profit, but i REALLY REALLY want it back
9. welcome to the forums whereabouts in W/Wales do you hail from?
Hmmmm, interesting thread..........do you think Mr Shuker could make 5-string classic bass with a fender style headstock ?
Mr Shuker can make anything you want ha ha! i mean anything...... ha ha
13. looking great, can't wait to see this with the finish on!
14. very nice! will we be blessed with soundclips?
15. i had a problem buying an ipod off ebay and paid using paypal. it was £230 IIRC, and after a week, nothing. had no trouble with paypal BUT they only offer protection up to £150 (again IIRC), and so that was all that they could refund me. luckily the credit card was insured as well, so also got a £230 refund from the bank (think about this ) so in my experience it was no hassle sorting things out with paypal, but if you gave more than £150 you might be left a little short changed
16. i don't really go on talkbass, i know the feature from computer music and body mod sites. and those pages load just as quickly as basschat
17. Just an idea for a possible improvement we could make to these wonderfull forums. on a couple of other forums i'm a member of, when browsing forums, if you hover the cursor over the thread title you get a little preview of the first few lines of the thread. it doesn't make any difference to the loading times of the pages or anything so can't see it having any negative effect. i find it really useful as my method of using forums is to go to new post and scroll through opening up any ones that seem interesting or relevent. but a lot of thread titles don't offer a lot of insight into what they contain. and this preview feature offers a good solution to that. just a thought?
18. mmhh smoove
19. no experience with them, but when i start getting paid. i'm gonna get that bass as a frettless for noodling.
