  1. Sorry should have given much more detail. Budget wise is tough as it’s a start up band therefore we are treating it as a growing business. I would imagine first outlay would be between £2-3k. Intend for the whole band to go through, 3 vocal mics, 4 drum mics, guitar DI,d through a helix, bass DI’d through a sans amp. We would also have a laptop and a Roland spd going through it too. Would be looking for a desk as we intend to all use in ears.
  2. Hi folks, Im just starting a wedding band and looking at getting a PA. Can anyone give me any advice on what they use for their wedding band? The subject seems like a bit of a mine field. Thanks in advance.
  3. Find the musicians wanted pages for your local area on Facebook.
  4. I reckon your P bass and orange will do the trick nicely. Pino uses an Ampeg SVT when he plays with Mayer so you should be able to dial in the Orange no problem at all. Sounds like an awesome band! Good luck! That being said if you want to go down the class D micro head route, I reckon the Genzler Magellan 800, Aguilar Tone Hammer 500, and the Mesa Subway D800 would be what I would be looking at.
  5. I’m sure Adam Neely did a video on YouTube about this, I will try and find it for you... just looked I misremembered it’s one quadruple whole note triplets

  10. KC Roberts & The Live Revolution. Awesome funky music!
  11. I would say playing fretless definitely helped my fretted technique, my fretting is much cleaner. Gary Willis is the guy to check out, he can make his fretless sound like a fretted bass. If I’m honest though I tend to think of them as two seperate instruments. I find fretless a lot more expressive, but I doubt I would ever break out my fretless on a rock gig...
  12. Start looking at some Red Hot Chili Peppers bass lines, lots of isolated bass tracks on YouTube
  13. To be fair I think you have to count it until you “feel” it
  14. I’d recommend using a live drummer playing to a click and triggering backing tracks on a Roland spx. It will make for a tight band!
  15. To be fair I think more Jazz basses are sold than P Basses. That being said I agree that I haven’t ever played a Jazz bass that I had to “have” , despite playing loads of them...
  16. I don’t know about Merseyside, but In Glasgow Facebook is definitely where you need to be, find all the musicians groups and join them.

  18. If you don’t ask you don’t get. I have found that most manufacturers and retailers recently are happy to provide replacement strings when you have a faulty one.
