  1. Hopefully the answer is yes, I would love to see it.
  2. In general I don't mind and have done this many times. One time I got pretty annoyed at the sound guy of a very famous Glasgow venue, when in an attempt to try make another bands bassist sound half decent was being very heavy handed with my GenzBenz shuttles EQ. He didn't quite understand that little adjustemts went a long way, and was going from one extreme to another quite frantically. I had to step in and explain the EQ before he twisted all the knobs off...
  3. Does anyone know if these webinars are recorded so that you can access them later?
  4. I think you are much better off with a wired hardcase instead. Much more reliable.
  5. I've just properly started listening to Paul Young. God damn Pino is good.
  6. Hi Andy, Pretty shocking from Parcel Force here. I deal with them of a daily basis, and while our regular driver is great and checks every parcel, whenever it is anyone else them seem content on giving you any box to make up the numbers. These things seem to be getting worse since COVID means you no longer actually sign for anything. I hope you get sorted out.
  7. I agree with the concensus take however many you feel comfortable with. I generally only take 1 bass, I keep it in great condition and it's a quality instrument so chances of failure are slim. If it's a massive gig I will take a spare, purely to calm the nerves.
  8. This looks great Dave! I bet if you ran a dual amp set up I could hear you from up in here in Glasgow!
  9. That's very true, I'm not sharp enough to think on that level. I would just say that and wonder why folk were looking at me funny.
  10. I love a single cut, but I'm not a fan of the Sadowsky single cut. I think their Jazz shape is my favourite Jazz shape though. It is subtlety different. Also crazy price tag...
  11. I reckon Flea would be the guy to fit this bill. He is the biggest household name bass player I can think of.
  12. What is great here is that it's not only me that struggles with this. I go through phases of can I justify this expensive gear, should I downgrade? But the conclusion I have come to is its just GAS and I like the hunt of researching gear. But in all honesty I don't see me moving away from my Alphers. They are just incredible instruments made by great people.
  13. This just put a big smile on my face. Love hearing stories like this. Glad you have a treasured instrument back!
  14. Great to see Bakithi on this, his playing on Graceland basically started my love of fretless. It would have been great to see Pino on the call.
  15. The next single from the album was released today. Hope you like this track. https://open.spotify.com/track/2bmHiE3TizupvzrZsv7A7I?si=YrG91pFMQNecF3AeCoi1Gw&utm_source=copy-link
  16. That is a very nice bass at a good price! Hope you are well mate.
  17. 11K people must have forgotten to unmute the video. That being said its probably the best move for Puddle of Mud fans... 😂
  18. Totally it wasn't meant as a criticism. You are fully entitled to a refund in these circumstances.
  19. Sorry to hear that. I think as disappointing as it is, covid restrictions will be playing a part in longer wait times, and poor set ups. I judge a retailer on being honest and setting it right. I get that 3 weeks is a long time to sort an issue, but at least they are being honest and not telling you it will be a couple of days, then you end up chasing them...
  20. We could go full on Billy Corgan and believe that the colour of an instrument makes a difference to the sound...😂
  21. Most large touring acts play to some sort of backing track. Done right you can still be as spontaneous as you want, you can loop bars if you want to extend a solo etc. The only thing that would be really tricky would be unplanned key changes, yet if you had someone with ableton live this could also be achieved. Its all about how you approach them and what you use them for. Time and a place for everything.
  22. Not exactly hidden but incredible bass in metal. For instrumental metal I would also high recommend Nuclear Power Trio, and also Polyphia. Chon & Witherfall also have the mighty Anthony Crawford on bass absolutely blowing my socks off.
  23. Yup, my band uses backing tracks for synths/pads etc. Our drummer triggers them from a Roland spd sx and plays to a click, then we follow him. It allows us to be incredibly tight as a band and gives us a fuller live sound than most the bands we play with.
  24. I can understand this. I must admit I used to go to a lot more gigs, but pre covid, I had all the same reasons as you for going to fewer gigs. However I am going to make a conscious effort when gigs start again to go to more. I will mainly be focusing on smaller and emerging bands as my ticket money will make the biggest difference to them.
  25. I have a 6 year old son, I'm really looking forward to doing this with him, I understand that's completely contradictory to my last comment, but I'm hoping I will feel differently when it comes to him.
