Is it available in the Google play store?
I would be interested in this but it only seems available for ipad.
Hopefully that changes in the near future.
Wow, I wouldnt have guessed that in a million years. Never really thought of Steve Bailey as another other than a fretless guy.
The playing on appetite is tremendous whoever it was.
Let's be honest in the 70's & 80's it was common place for session musicians to record the albums instead of the band. The band could play it live but when the red light was on they couldn't nail it.
I made this video for you before I knew you were a 1/2 down, but the same finger will apply a fret up.
I thought I should put it as an unlisted video on YouTube, so that no one thinks I am sending dodgy videos.
I think you have hit the nail in the head there. It's what he has to do to get views and earn a living.
If you look at his earlier YT videos they are much more about the bass playing. He got his big YT break when doing a Fiver video for Davie504 and then a bass battle with Davie504. I think the path was then clear that to make a living out of music he would actually be able to eat from making YT videos, rather then solo bass gigs.
I think it's totally normal for you to be feeling frustrated & disappointed. I would be feeling the same.
Unfortunately buying anything from abroad in 20/21 is a risky endeavour.
I hope your bass is found.
I agree, I really like Charles Berthoud. I've said in another thread I think he is the most technically accomplished bassist I've ever seen, as much as its not a competition, he may actually be the best bassist I have ever seen.
Ah nice to see that bass went to a bass chatter. I love Nordstrand pick ups and preamps, when I saw that on the bass direct website I thought to myself "who asked Carey to build them a bass, but then said I want Aguilar pups in it".
Glad it still sounds great.
In chronological order of influence, and almost autobiographical :
Mark Hoppus - Blink 182
Flea - RHCP
Les Claypool - Primus
Victor Wooten
Janek Gwizdala
Pino Palladino
It's all part of the fun of the gig. Here in Glasgow the crowd gets very rowdy in this time and in general it builds a great atmosphere.
I like how Blink 182 used to do it, the would just be honest about it and say this is the last song then we are going to go away but come back again and play a few more songs.
I am happy to watch 5 seconds of an ad so that the content creator makes some money, most channels I watch regularly have less than 1M followers, I look at it the same way as buying EPs etc.
I would say the answer to this is all in how the bass produces the mid frequencies. Scooping out some low mids will probably help with clarity, but when put in a mix with guitars it might get lost.
This 100%. Before investing in a new bass, throw a set of low tension strings on your bass and see how it feels.
Then is all about trial and error, my advice would be create yourself a backing track to play to and find the chord voicings that sound the best.
