1. Not all Hipshot replacement bridges are aluminium. The one I fitted weighed a tonne
2.
That's spooky.
It is isn't it
3. +1 I've got 2 of his ebony ones, nicely made and as you say, so much better than plastic.
4. What an ungrateful lot Thanks for the idea Clarky. I'll wear my buckle round the back, with a tea towel wrapped around it and with my jeans left in the drawer just in case. I'll also get one of these so that nothing else sticks out and causes a rash
5. Err... you guys aint gonna believe this.... It wasn't me either
6. Definitely Japanese (the IV), as I believe is the listed Geddy Lee too. Peter
7. John I know Sir! Putting hand up from the back of the class. The MM IV is Japanese and the MM V is USA. They are indeed a fine bass, I've put a Sadowsky pre in mine too. 70's pickup position too.
8. Nice work there!
9. Oh no Russ!!!!! Hopefully your sanity will be regained before someone buys this absolute beauty of a bass. I managed nearly 12 years without a gig and still got up to 20+ basses

Iceni

I don't know why, but this made I laugh
11. It's generally accepted that the GS's are more scooped in the mids. Someone will probably come along and trash that theory in a minute however I've used both as a pair and like both. I would go for the DB's for my favourite tone though.
12. Brilliant idea. I've no need for one as adding tinware and an ebony finger rest to my P seems to have cured the very slight neck dive
13. DB112's have to be in chocolate to sound right as a pair I'm glad you've seen the light. I used my pair with my new Rebelhead last night, brilliant!
14. Getting on a stage is the best way to improve your playing, and it's great fun to boot.
15. It's the one I'm thinking of then. Nice lighting as per usual Alan. Peter
16. Aha, not the Cumbrian one then. About to go and check out the Rebelhead in anger Peter
17. All the best with the sale. Watching with interest. Beautiful basses.
18. Nice one Alan looking forward to seeing that in the Fleish. Is it the one from up North? Peter
19.
That is simply stunning! But I'm not sure I can justify another striped ebony singlecut . You'll regret it if you sell it!!
+1, you can always get another Ray but the ACG is unique. I'm playing my Fender the most at the moment mainly because it's new and a bit of a novelty. I'll come back to the Harlot eventually
20. I loved my rack. Sold it yesterday and bought a RH450 Rebelhead

Gadge

I had the pleasure of meeting Gadge today and as usual where did the time go ? Good to see another guitarist straying to the dark side! It may be the start of a whole new life. I hope that the LMII does all that you need Roger, it's served me well. Thanks for the coffee and I hope to meet up agin some time. GAS is of course incurable Peter
22.
I've been on the receiving end of your parcels. Took an eight hour shift to open the last one... If Carlsberg packed basses they'd be called GreenKing.
23.
I had the same colour flea bass as that till last week Damn you Rowbee for buying it off me! I havent read the thread sorry. But has anyone mentioned Jaco yet?
He would be my 1st choice, dusting the stage with baby talc to get his moves working
24.
I just took delivery of a Precision today from someone on the forum, who just stuck a shipping label to the case rather than bother himself to wrap or box it. It arrived split, and since there seems to be no way to lock it whatever mechanism was there to do so has presumably broken off, so perhaps the cases are not so sturdy as they first appear. I'm pretty sure a hiscox would have survived the journey.
Personally I'd never send ANY hard case through any postal system unless it was protected in some way, usually in a cardboard box of some sort.
25. It's probably only me, but being ex-Navy and such probably helps. To 'anchor or not to anchor' shortly after a thread asking 'to port or not to port' kinda tickled me no end. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=57799&hl= Think of the morale, port every time Seriously though, I'd say anchor and float down the strings, a good technique to learn early on methinks.
