  1. cheers, ive done a search on here since posting this question and i guess WD40 is a bad idea! oh well, will try very hard to get some proper stuff tomorrow!!
  2. just wondering if i could use WD40 to spray and clean up the pots on my bass, theyre a bit scratchy and i dont have a can of electrical contact cleaner! and no chance of getting one in time for a gig tomorrow night!!
  3. recently treat myself to some new padded straps for my basses so these are surplus. theyre the monogrammed ones, two are the brown coloured (same as pic below) one is black with pale blue monogramme etc (as other pic) Cant find my camera at the minute hence the google images. theyre in good nick, used but not abused. the blue/black one has a stri of the soft side of velcro on the back ( i used it to help stop slipping off the shoulder on one of my previous basses) its just stuck so easily removable i guess £5 each plus 50p to cover postage [attachment=50555:xl__0990681000.jpg] [attachment=50556:09906815...29cd4570.jpg]
  4. quick update, ive had a major change arround of basses over the last few months, many have come and gone! however this new one arrived the other day courtesy of ebay!!! its a '96 warwick fortress masterman, flamed maple neck rosewood board - which i was surprised about as i thought they all had the ovangkol/wenge necks like my fortress one! that aside its really nice plays lovely and sounds nice too!!!! heres a pic paired with my fortress one... 5. bugger! why oh why am i skint!!!?? i'd of loved this to pair with my existing fortress one!! great basses these.
  6. sorted! thanks guys, fortunately there was just enough space to push the pups right down and get hold of the screws with a pair of long nosed pliers, and 5 minutes later new screws fitted!! plus some additional foam under pups so icould adjust hight better!
  7. I had a dodgy rod in my fortress one a good few years ago, contacted warwick and was able to buy a replacement direct through them - IIRC it was only about £15!
  8. I had one of these cabs a few years ago, gigged it for over 5 years without any problems, great sounding cab WELL worth the money - if i hadnt gone all lightweight i'd be interested!!
  9. just got my hands on a new bass but the pup screws are all schewed up and i want hem out to replacethem! tried pressing really hard with a screwdriver but just keeps turning and chewing them up even more!!! any ideas how to get them out?
  10. recently got hold of an old squier jazz, the prb;em i have is that the open 'A' string when played just doesn't cut through, but it does when the a string is layed on the frets! ive got a mag600 head and when playing open strings the vu meter moves much more on the other open strings than on the 'A'. I'm guessing its just a crappy pup, so what would be good replacements??
  11. C'mon its a cracking bass!!! £350 plus £15 towards postage
  12. some better pics to tept anyone?!! [attachment=43997:DSCF6666.JPG] [attachment=44007:DSCF6668.JPG] [attachment=44003:DSCF6664.JPG]
