1. That is inspirational. I prefer it when Jaco is a little hotter in the mix myself.
2. How about an ESP Ltd NT Guitar thingy, mint with Seymour Duncans? (don't know much about Guitars)
3. Yamaha TRB5 Mk1 of any interest? (34" scale) Peter
4. Has someone fitted a thumb rest? There looks like a pair of filled holes? It looks a beauty
5. Very nice indeed
6.
You've literally just bought this bass... yes?
Have you just sold it Jon?
7. Thanks Mike The BG250 Combo has Tubedrive and the 3rd stomp is used to toggle this on/off. The BH250 head doesn't have the TubeDrive and the 3rd stomp toggles the last two Toneprints. I was reading from the BG250 manual. So only the head has this ability to switch between the two, not the combo. The comments I originally read about this were on Finnbass in relation to the BG250. Hence the confusion on the BH250 Head thread here
8.
found this on the net about the footswith A TC Electronic ‘Switch 3’ footswitch can be added for even more control. TonePrint effects can be punched in and out and the amp can be muted. Furthermore, even though the TonePrint knob controls one effect at a time, the previously loaded effect is stored in the internal circuit and with the third switch this effect can be punched in and out as well, which in reality gives BH250 a dual effect section capable of combining any 2 of the 6 effect types available.
Mike Where did you find that info? The manual seems to make no mention of this and the Footswitch - 3 is for 1. Tuner/mute, 2. Tube effect on/off and 3. TonePrint on/off. Unless perhaps someone is thinking that the Tube FX are another TonePrint? Edited to add: I now understand, the BH250 has no TubeDrive and the 3rd stomp is to toggle between 2 TonePrints. The BG250 does have TubeDrive and the 3rd stomp toggles it on/off Peter
9.
Do they make any extension cabs to go along with it? Just think of the day my MB stuff gives up the ghost - this stuff is priced so well.
No extension cab provision. That's not it's remit.
10. These are great amps and as someone said above this is a real bargain given the price for the dual channel model. I've owned a lot of amps and my one is a keeper. Bump
11. 1st proper outing with the BB2024MX last night. Man that passive output is immense. Playability with lighter gauge D'Addario's is 10/10. The toggle switch is exactly what suits me for simple yet effective adjustments and the tone control seems very linear compared to most I've used. I was very happy with it and I'm now just a bit 'over the moon' Peter
12.
Hello Pete! recognize this TRB 6 ?!?!? this photos were taken after some serious restoration process and now seems it came out yesterday from factory!
Totally awesome Paulo
13. I thought I'd share my 4 Yamaha's The BB2024MX is new and I'm blown away by the passive tone from these pickups. The build quality, given that it's made in Yamaha's Japanese 'Custom Shop' is perfect, 10/10. The neck is completely free of dead spots and the colour is like butter. I always missed my CS Ric because of 'that colour' and now I'm happy again. I always wondered what the 'passive fuss' was about and now I know: Now for a pair of TRBP's, my 4 and 6 string. Both 34" scale Mk1's: And finally my Mk1 TRB5 that's also in great condition for it's age, again a 34" scale bass. This one is probably going up for sale due to redundancy (work not basses): Peter
14. If Mr F would have removed the shrink wrap to photo the bass then it would be less new. Where's everyone's sense of humour gone? After all it's not as if it's a bloody Alembic Peter
15. The Moth is totally awesome!!
16.
Here's my response: If I'd have had the maple board it would have made my tattoo very difficult. See below... Rosewood is much easier to ink
Awesome tattoo there Sean. Puts my Koi to shame
17. I bought the bass from my local music shop Promenade Music. They compete well on price and give a great service. Gary is the man to talk things bass to. My Marleaux Consat Custom 5 is now in their sticky mitts (again). A really great bass but it sat in it's case not getting played. If anyone wants a Marleaux it's mint and rather nice in a very different way to the Yamaha.
18.
I'd demand a pick-up blend
And here's me with a switch on my Fender too I like the simplicity of 3 options, infinity scares me. Peter
19.
I demand more and bigger pics
When the sun comes out and I take the protective film off I'll do a Yamaha photo shoot outside.
20.
Ah, it's yours?!?! Excellent I thought it was Glenn Hughes one. I didn't know they had made a few for retail.
I didn't know until I ordered one and the dealer gave me the option
21.
I am entirely besotted by the 2024X and I have to say I prefer the rosewood version, definitely.
I like the rosewood version too, and looks wise it was probably edging the maple out by a tiny margin but, the previously unheard of option (to me anyway) of a maple board swung it and I'm glad I went for it. There a strong longitudinal grain which gives the maple a pleasing aesthetic. But I understand where you're coming from. It sounds amazing and the build quality is superb. I saw several Fenders and MM's for more than this cost me. Peter
22. It would be a BB2024MX and look like this:
23. I've seen this beauty. I loved it then and still do Jim is a fine luthier. Peter
