1. This is useful and gives a guide for taking the strain off the trussrod before adjusting it: http://www.garywillis.com/pages/bass/bassmanual/setupmanual.html
2. I'd add a Bongo to the trade list also
3. This is a real beauty. A question for all really. How does a SR5 sound compared to a 4 string Ray? Peter
4. And here's some photos of the TRB5 Mk1. A bit 'wonky' I know AND I'm sober! It has a great action and playability this bass. Controls are 2 EQ with a smiley/frowny EQ rotary switch - very effective. Again a price reduction on consideration, now £450. Comes with a hard case that's fairly tatty. 5. I've just put my TRB6P Yamaha up for trade looking for a Ray. Not a million miles away either. Also my TRB5. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189094-yamaha-trb6p-mk1-34-scale-for-trade-for-a-ray-and-trb5-mk1-for-sale/page__fromsearch__1 Peter
6. I'm selling this TRB5 Photo's courtesy of Bubinga5 and again I'll take some more when the sun makes an appearance. Its a mid 90's bass.. the MK1 in really good condition but the bridge has tarnishing.. a few small dings here and there.. the tone is amazing, lots of power with growl and punchy mid range bass. The Yamaha EQ is externally and internally adjustable, with its internal finger wheels, and pozi drive cut and boost. I'm looking for £450. Any trades/combinations considered. Peter
7. Just got in from meeting up with Keir to trade my ESP Ltd guitar for his Warwick Streamer Std. What a gent and what a nice bass. I officially love Warwicks! A pleasure! Peter
8.
Jaco's life was an example of extremes .
Being Bi-Polar would account for that
9. That is inspirational. I prefer it when Jaco is a little hotter in the mix myself.
10. How about an ESP Ltd NT Guitar thingy, mint with Seymour Duncans? (don't know much about Guitars)
11. Yamaha TRB5 Mk1 of any interest? (34" scale) Peter
12. Has someone fitted a thumb rest? There looks like a pair of filled holes? It looks a beauty
13. Very nice indeed
14.
You've literally just bought this bass... yes?
Have you just sold it Jon?
15. Thanks Mike The BG250 Combo has Tubedrive and the 3rd stomp is used to toggle this on/off. The BH250 head doesn't have the TubeDrive and the 3rd stomp toggles the last two Toneprints. I was reading from the BG250 manual. So only the head has this ability to switch between the two, not the combo. The comments I originally read about this were on Finnbass in relation to the BG250. Hence the confusion on the BH250 Head thread here
16.
found this on the net about the footswith A TC Electronic ‘Switch 3’ footswitch can be added for even more control. TonePrint effects can be punched in and out and the amp can be muted. Furthermore, even though the TonePrint knob controls one effect at a time, the previously loaded effect is stored in the internal circuit and with the third switch this effect can be punched in and out as well, which in reality gives BH250 a dual effect section capable of combining any 2 of the 6 effect types available.
Mike Where did you find that info? The manual seems to make no mention of this and the Footswitch - 3 is for 1. Tuner/mute, 2. Tube effect on/off and 3. TonePrint on/off. Unless perhaps someone is thinking that the Tube FX are another TonePrint? Edited to add: I now understand, the BH250 has no TubeDrive and the 3rd stomp is to toggle between 2 TonePrints. The BG250 does have TubeDrive and the 3rd stomp toggles it on/off Peter
17.
Do they make any extension cabs to go along with it? Just think of the day my MB stuff gives up the ghost - this stuff is priced so well.
No extension cab provision. That's not it's remit.
18. These are great amps and as someone said above this is a real bargain given the price for the dual channel model. I've owned a lot of amps and my one is a keeper. Bump
19. 1st proper outing with the BB2024MX last night. Man that passive output is immense. Playability with lighter gauge D'Addario's is 10/10. The toggle switch is exactly what suits me for simple yet effective adjustments and the tone control seems very linear compared to most I've used. I was very happy with it and I'm now just a bit 'over the moon' Peter
20.
Hello Pete! recognize this TRB 6 ?!?!? this photos were taken after some serious restoration process and now seems it came out yesterday from factory!
Totally awesome Paulo
21. I thought I'd share my 4 Yamaha's The BB2024MX is new and I'm blown away by the passive tone from these pickups. The build quality, given that it's made in Yamaha's Japanese 'Custom Shop' is perfect, 10/10. The neck is completely free of dead spots and the colour is like butter. I always missed my CS Ric because of 'that colour' and now I'm happy again. I always wondered what the 'passive fuss' was about and now I know: Now for a pair of TRBP's, my 4 and 6 string. Both 34" scale Mk1's: And finally my Mk1 TRB5 that's also in great condition for it's age, again a 34" scale bass. This one is probably going up for sale due to redundancy (work not basses): Peter
22. If Mr F would have removed the shrink wrap to photo the bass then it would be less new. Where's everyone's sense of humour gone? After all it's not as if it's a bloody Alembic Peter
23. The Moth is totally awesome!!
