I have seen pictures of the Steve Bailey custom ones before, and was sure that the Aria text on the headstock was vertical, written under the strings, with his signature under it, rather than horizontal and small like it is. I know it's minor, but wondered if maybe this is a regualr Avante model rather thanthe signature (is there such a thing). Lookin at price it seems a bit high for a bass that retailled aroundthat price new... But I love the look of it. Shep
Nice Godlyke Disciple... but not an Aria!
 2. If anyone has a spare Thomastik or LaBella G string let me know and I'll buy it from you!
 3. Deposit paid... SOLD!
 4.
Undo the truss rod nut by turning to the left (lefty loosey, righty tighty helps me remember which way).
ALMOST always correct (99%) but watch out for the 1% that has the truss rod installed incorrectly or that works counter intuitively! I'm speaking from experience with some of the earliest Warwick rods (even a couple I owned from 1990) which were notorious for working the opposite to the 'righty- tighty, lefty-loostey' method, my Infinette has the rod installed the 'opposite/wrong' way.

I have emailed the seller with an offer and got a reply saying he will accept it. Just want to see if my offer is fair (from my perspective) before i actually commit to it.
Surely if you've made an offer then the offer must be fair from 'your perspective' as you generated the figure! If people on here say it is worth £xxx or £xxxx will you go back and revise your offer? If you do and you offer less the seller isn't going to be impressed and if folks say it is worth more, then it'd be very gentlemanly of you to revise your offer up over.
 6. No confusion on my purchase of Benedict's BEX bass; top guy to deal with and all good and proper as it should be, bass was exactly as described. Cheers Benedict.

Not sure if they are a user of said instruments or involved in some more direct way.
 8.
Hi I own a trace elliot t bass. Just wondering what the general opinion of these basses are and how much they generally go for on the market. I bought mine from new back in 1996. Its the one designed by status with the ergonomic headstock.
Opinion... Only ever tried two; one was nice the other awful. Just 'one' opinion of two basses! How much do they go for... £400 - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...ace+elliot+bass £575 - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...ace+elliot+bass £350 - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...ace+elliot+bass £550 - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...ace+elliot+bass
 9. Just to clarify; I'd only be interested in 4 string trades and I'd not be interested in any bass that exceeds 9lb in weight.
 10.
Interesting! I've never heard TE described as distorted!! Maybe the gear your rehearsal place has is knackered? Mine were old (ca 1986) and never sounded distorted - at least to MY ears!
There's 'distortion' and there's 'DISTORTION'! Basically all amps produce a degree of distortion but what JL was referring to isn't the type you equate with overdriven guitars/basses that can either be an effect or an amp being mistreated/abused/dying. It's more a level of distortion that is very subtle and is produced as a result of the components used in the construction. Better quality amps use purer components that produce less distortion and newer equipment is generally better again. The form of distortion JL refers to is inherent in all amps and generally manifests itself as a softening of the tone which many of us like.
 11.
Yes they were all rather lovely but that orange one with the P/J configuration was cream of the crop for me ...luverly.
That was the original 'Pumpkin' Helloween bass and as it was in need of tlc when I got it I had it refinished thus... the Helloween fan I sold it to now has the pics from me to restore it back to the original colour sceme/artwork!
 12.
It finally got here! After 62 days from ordering date to deilvery, I present to you my new Ernie Ball Music Man 25th Anniversary 5 strings HSS model (Humbucker / Single / Single)
You having a party to celebrate? <edit> I see the 'ladys' are well catered for!
 13.
No need for sarcasm. I had it at 1150, I dropped it to 1099 ono, but when I edited the original post, I put it at 1100. Same price innit, who cares about the quid.
I don't think that Stevie D was being sarcastic, he was referring to the fact that in first post you've got it advertised for £1100 (you can't tell that it has been edited/revised from £1150) and then in post #3 you've got price drop to £1099... looks like you've price dropped it a quid!
 14.
Mr Warwickhunt, That has got to be the deal of the decade. I have been thinking of getting my steamer fretless fretted as most of my fretless playing is on 5 strings these days. Even then I would still be a bit squeamish about taking it out to gigs. Anyway good luck with the sale and have a good festive season. Pete
Many thanks for the endorsement Pete. I believe it's a bit special, it must be considering I sold the rest of these... ... and I only kept this and my old red Streamer! When you consider the price of a new Streamer (even a BO neck bass) or what used late 80's, early 90's basses go for, then this IMHO has to be a reasonable price!
 15.
The bass is now only available with the Gator hard-case (the JT gigbag went with the Zon) and @ £1115 delivered in the UK
Having further cleared out some stuff I've now found a decent quality padded Warwick gigbag that I forgot that I had, so £1050 collected (with the gigbag) or £1085 UK delivered (in the gigbag and double boxed).
 16.
Ending on christmas day? Not sure the seller thought that one through, not sure too many people will be watching ebay then!!
It could be argued that's the perfect day to end a listing; nobody at work, not likely that there'll be many at the pub @ 19:00, so many folk will be at home lounging off Christmas lunch with access to t'internet at hand. ... or is that just in my lazy world?
 17.
I'm vaguely close to no less than 2 other fairly high end US basses as well at the moment! If they come off then watch out for a few of my current 'stock' coming up for sale soon, lol.
I hope you're going to buy some more 4 string stock Barrie... all this 5 string malarkey is no good for me mate!
 18.
If you can get close enough give it a big suck kiss, a vacuum cleaner could pull the whole coil out. I have used Duct tape in the past as this is nice and sticky.
Just pray that statement never gets quoted out of context...
 19. It is just a dust cap and tbh unless it's really buggin' you I'd just leave well alone.
 20. Looks to me like someone had some broken pallets and decided to nail them together!
 21.
Hmm, must just be a standard bridge. Looks like a nice bass though, just not sure if I should pull the trigger or not since I need a fretless!
I know someone looking to sell a BO Streamer Pro M fretless (mid 90's bass I think). I'm not sure of your budget but he's unlikely to give it away knowing him!
 22.
Well, its a two piece bridge as you'd see on most Warwicks, if that is the 2-Tek! I think it's a 1990 model.
No the 2-Tek was a bit of kit that was non-Warwick. Weighed about 2lb on it's own and had individual 'tone-fingers' rather than one bridge; Michael Anthony had them fitted to his Sterling basses for a while.
 23.
How much for it in a binbag taken home in the back of my car? Glad the Zon has sold, that was a beautiful bass too! As it happens, I'm currently trying to decide whether or not I should buy a fretless Warwick Fortress bass that I have my eye on!
Even my binbags are 'special'! However mates rates if you collect. Unusual to see a fretless Fortress; is it the one with the 2-Tek bridge or the later version.
 24. The bass is now only available with the Gator hard-case (the JT gigbag went with the Zon) and @ £1115 delivered in the UK
 25. I have a PJ equipped Warwick Streamer and a PJ equipped Fender and I have to say that it is my favourite combinations of pups available. I've not tried the basses you mention but I can only assume that the duff tone is down to that particular bass with those particular manufacturers pups in it!
