Does anyone have any experience of fanned frets, is there much of a learning curve?

Those who have tried a Super J can probably tell you that it is very easy and immediate to get used to the fanned frets. You barely notice it.
I've never tried one of these but I would love and I'd probably have had a punt at this and bought blind but at this kind of price it'd have to be in my fav colour/livery and that'd have to be 'burst with tortie! Best of luck with the sale though.
If the item is in Ramsgate, Kent, why is the listing in Spanish? (It's been a long week and I'm not very bright!)
Fede was looking at it on the Italian ebay site; here's the same (sold ) item on UK.
I've always wondered where it shows how many people are watching an item ... can anyone tell me?

there's a hit counter at the bottom of the page - it's at 49 as I type
Only the seller can tell how many people have it 'marked' for watching; otherwise as Steve says the counter at the bottom tells you how many hits the listing has (not all listings have them as it is optional). -
Hi guys look at this! http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT only 31 viewers and only one offer! this auction is worth a shot I suppose. I can't afford it at the moment, waiting for the future to buy this fantastic piece of kit! cheers, Fede
Surely if these are £145 new then even if you win it with the next bid, @ £112 + P&P for a used one that doesn't sound like a mega deal! I'd wait till you have the cash and these'll probably be £110 NEW. -
This bass used to be mine and also Mark (Bassaussie) owned it for a few months as well. I sold it to WaveyDavy and then somehow it's got to you.
I can fill in a bit more history as I almost bought this from Dave (eubassix), so there's another bit of the jigsaw. -
My 89 Streamer Stage I doesn't flare out or thicken up much as you go up the neck, my Zon is similar; from memory are Rics fairly slim? I suppose ultimately you need to look at string spacing at the bridge; a bass with skinny bridge spacing is going to have a narrower neck.

Don't think 3 piece! I play in a 3 piece and below is our set lists for tomorrow night. This isn't meant to be an indication of what you 'should/could' cover but if you look through I doubt you'd find much by any 3 piece band... Salisbury Hill & Boys of Summer are good fun as a 3 piece! Set 1 1 Use Somebody 2 Walk this Way 3 Violet Hill 4 Ain’t Talkin’ bout Love 5 The Story 6 Satellite 7 Sidewinder Sleeps 8 Salisbury Hill 9 Cryin’ Set2 1 Learn to Fly 2 No One Knows 3 Good Riddance 4 Livin’ on a Prayer 5 Jack & Dianne 6 Crazy 7 Valerie 8 Boys of Summer 9 Peaches 10 All These Things That I’ve Done 11 Sex on Fire 12 Crazy Train 13 She 'kin Hates Me
Larrrvley ! I always regret passing on a fretless 5 (unlined) one of those. Andy
That'll have been a later Infinity bass Andy; very similar in overall shape and pup lay-out etc but not the same as these were only ever made as 4 string fretted versions and they were limited to a number somewhere between 100-220... depending on who you believe!

I have to say, I'd be quite happy to gamble your money on that... wouldn't put my money up against receiving the Ovation in the picture but then again someone else's money is a different matter!

I see that he's letting the pictures do the talking! <edit> The pups are the significantly cheaper EMG 'selects'... iirc they are also passive. -

A couple of questions re Mesa Boogie combo options
warwickhunt replied to Beedster's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thought that might be the case John. Does the ratio of output watts to impedance vary with manufacturer? Seems some suggest a 100% increase in O/P for a 50% cut in impedance (e.g., a 300w amp into 4 shoves out 150 into 8), whilst with others it seems more complex? Is there any sure way of knowing apart from the manufacturers specs?
From first hand observations it seems to vary between every manufacturer but as a rule of thumb I've tended to knock a 1/3 OP off when going to 8 ohms; though saying that if your cab is sensitive it can appear to make little difference and it is debatable as to whether you'd hear the difference between 300 & 400 watts any way! -

warwickhunt replied to Beedster's topic in Amps and Cabs
Answering #2 - if 4 ohms gets you 600w, it's likely to put out closer to 400-450w @ 8 ohms. There is a 50w discrepancy as on the face of it, you'd think it would be a simple mathematical calculation but I've yet to see a standard equation for working it out; as a rule it's normally about 2/3... sometimes + a bit! Still a healthy output. -
Which sub did you go for in the end. I want an ART905S but I don't have the required £1000 to buy one.
We bought a pair of RCF 522s and a single RFC 705as. We had the opportunity of a pair of bins but tbh it would be overkill for pub gigs!
On the subject of the neck.............from what can be seen of it, it looks VERY like the neck on my 77 Ray . If the pick up is original, could the control panel / pots be original ?? If so, well worth £200, in fact a positive steal, and wacking into a nice Warmoth body !!! S
Some of the parts are original and the neck does have a value but bids were pulled that indicate folks were prepared to pay big money... in which case some fools may still think it is all MM and bid £1000+ -
I did look at HK stuff, in the same price range as the RCF kit we were looking at, it didn't impress like the RCF stuff did. If we were prepared to double our budget on the other hand, some of the HK kit was ace, but at a price.
We had the same dilemma/views. Ended up getting nearly new RCF powered tops and a single RCF bin; unfortunately, out of the OP budget!
Yup I think we've seen it before too quite a while back. Different pics this time - I remember it standing up the way.
I agree, I recall seeing this one. However, this is a newly registered user so I wonder if it is a scammer copying an earlier listing (idiot could have at least copied a proper MM) or if it is the same guy using a different account as he doesn't want to sully an account that he has, that has decent feedback (you can legitimately have 2 accounts)! -
