1. If you see this Ltd Ed Streamer on eBay give a big shout out and warn others off. I have a feeling that as he's scammed someone once (the Warwick forum tale) and he's tried it again on here, then he may chance his arm on eBay! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=70435 http://forum.warwick.de/10-warwick-basses/...-you-can-2.html
 2.
Bloody hell. Is it possible to use his IP address to track him?
The guy on the Warwick forum who has been scammed, paid via bank transfer and has a name and address but would you hold any great hope out for tracking him down when he is in Thailand (at least according to his Warwick profile, which has since been altered).
 3. I may as well save someone the horror of being scammed rather than playing this chump any further... http://forum.warwick.de/10-warwick-basses/...html#post168644 <edit> I alerted the Mods re. this scumbag as soon as I spotted this but I thought I'd better stop anyone from making an impulse payment to this lowlife!

 5. I'm interested; is it possible to check the bass out.
 6. No trades?
 7.
there's not love for sterlings??
Not true; there's a lot of love for Sterlings but certainly in the UK the cost of that love is generally a lot lower (tbh ebay searches of recent sales would probably upset you ).
 8.
Soooo... Long story short, been ODing on Alice in Chains recently and been catching as many of their shows in the UK as possible, and I just can't get over how good Mike Inez's spector sounds. It's colossal!
Am I the first to point out that he used Warwick Streamer basses as well as Spectors? In fact I seem to recall that for much of his time with AIC he was pictured with Warwicks! Just sayin'.
 9.
Ah,apologies people. MODS plse close.
No need to close, it's always good to have lots of reference to stuff that's a bit suspect.
 10.
You're not suggesting this may be a bit "suss"?
'How very dare you!'
 11.
This has been posted before, I think, with a general "don't touch with a barge pole" warning
Correct!
 12. Anybody find it odd that he also sold a 'refinished' gold sparkle P bass quite recently... maybe his practice piece! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=270473864425
 13.
...but if you're hosting the images yourself, you can include as many as you like in the main description with no charge. Why the seller would go to the effort of typing a description as text, pasting it into an image, saving it out, hosting it and then linking to it is a mystery to me. Unless being able to delete the image after the auction closes, and therefore all record of the text of the auction, is useful to them...
A well reasoned argument there M. I have a feeling that 'IF' someone were to shell out that kind of moolah they may well want verification after they buy it (difficult to do 'before' you buy it if it is half way around the world) and questions may be asked at a later date, so the seller has covered his backside good if he can alter/delete the text or images after the auction has ended. Not that I have that kind of money to spend but I'll bear that in mind next time I check out a sale... just how did you establish it was an image; pasted, saved and hosted off eba,y and not a straight text box with images inserted?
 14. Aside from that... is this the same bass we've seen/discussed numerous times before? <edit> Oh yes, just spotted the 'backlight' comment... same bass!
 15. I realise this is a very 'subjective' question but what do they sound like (setting aside the various pup combinations, I'm thinking overall sound)?
 16.
Very interested. Is it still for sale, does it have the full 34" scale neck, and as I am in Devon how would we do the deal????
I 'think' you are a bit too late... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=WDVW&rd=1
 17. Like an upside down Warwick Fortress... though I have a nagging suspicion the Yamaha was out first, so the Fortress is an upside down Yamaha.
 18.
Hi all, If an amp is advertised as having a 4 ohm or 8 ohm version what does that mean? Thanks in advance Deak
An amp won't be advertised as having a 4 ohm or an 8 ohm version... a cabinet might/will! 'If' it is the latter (ie a cab) then a 4 ohm cab will get the most out of your amp (theoretically it will get 200w out of a 200w amp BUT that is not the real world situation nor is it the deciding factor when getting a cab) BUT you generally wouldn't be able to add another cab, whereas an 8 ohm cab on the other hand will get about 2/3 of the wattage out of your amp (again... theoretically) but you CAN add another 8 ohm cab at a later date. Tbh there are so many variables in your question that it would be easier if you said what amp you already have and what cab you were considering getting.
 19.
Another highly credible piece of lateral thinking from the North East contingent!
Trust a Geordie to try and find a way of saving money... worse than Yorkshiremen by all accounts.
No, you need a MM humbucker fitted in the bridge position, the P-bass pups as standard then a jazz bass pickup in the neck. Now you're talking!
... or follow Billy Sheehan's example and stick a Gibbo mudbucker up by the neck. In fact I'm sure the North's very own Bass Doc (another renowned tight-fisted Geordie ) did that very same mod way before Mr Sheehan.
 20. Non more dark than... The Warwick 'Darklord'! http://www.warwickbass.com/modules/produkt...14460&cl=EN
 21. Alternatively... Get the best of both worlds and mod the P bass with a J pup.
 22.
It's not natural finish though if that's what you mean. I think they call it Fiesta Red, but it looks more like pink or orange really. I just got that colour cos it looks like Pino's!
That looks to be in lovely condition for a 'gigging' Squier JV bass from 83. I have to confess it's not a colour bass I've ever owned but they always look tasty when owned by other people.
 23. No worries Chris. It piqued my interest as I couldn't imagine an amp (even this buddy 'thing' ) that wouldn't do 4 ohm, though it did take me a couple of attempts to clarify the output ohmage.
 24. You can sand the dirt off the bass but it 'could' be quite deeply ingrained; you can also apply a coloured/stained wax to your bass BUT you'd likely as not want to sand back the ingrained dirt first as it would still be noticeable if you applied a coloured wax over the top. Not a major job to do but be aware it'll all need to be done by hand as the contouring on the SSI means that using an electric sander is a no-no!
