Just joined the 'Beady Eye' BDI Club... Cheapest £31.60 delivered via Amazon... What's not to like? So straight forward, and the DI might come in handy and Paired with a Joyo (Korg Clone) Tuner to keep things simple. I'm thinking more for my Son and encouraging his fretless escapades.

Behringer BDI21 just landed from Amazon Can't see how you would break this in normal use... switch might be iffy quality, but not the case.

I would imagine so... just check resistance from white to plate... 10k ish, and continuity from plate to jack ground... is there a separate ground wire from plate to cavity... or a separate gnd wire from the other coil?

While on the subject of stage monitoring... DI Pre-amps... Would you be expecting to find an XLR to go in to your box... or be presenting an XLR to go in to their mixer... I.e. your lead of theirs, maybe your short-ish lead to go in to their snake box?..

^Great Job... I'd make sure you have a few spares for when the private messages drop...

As for stripping the paint... A gloss finish can get a little grabby with a sweaty paw... Simply knocking the sheen off with a fine wet n dry, light sanding paper, or scotchbright pad can improve matters. I like the feel of unfinished wood, but not practical, and some neck manf won't g'tee unless finished. A wipe of Danish, or other type all as a minimum.
