1.
I like the demos where the some simple bass is played through a looper and then the knobs are turned to show progressive changes in sound. What I don't like is 5 minutes of somebody thrashing away at their bass without showing what the pedal can do. It would also be good to see what pedals can't do - e.g. how low an octaver can track before it craps out.
This. Nothing worse than a pedal review consiating of 4 minutes of talking then 8 minutes of slap bass.
 2. Never used the korg but I'm a huge fan of my ms60b. Can't say I've ever had a problem with reading the display when played outdoors. You might be right about the delays being better on the Pandora but the zoom has stereo out so that would be a big deal if modulations anddelays etc are important imo.
 3. I doubt it too. If zoom could rework the b3 to allow 4 or 5 simultaneous effects so you don't need to waste 1 of the 3 pedals with something like a noise gate then that would make it exciting enough for me but it seems even that would be asking too much. It's ashame they never properly replaced the b9.1ut either. That had so much potential. I guess there's just not enough of an appetite amongst bass players for floor effects as their is within the guitar community.
 4. I've got the 2x10 but upgraded the speakers and disconnected the tweeter. Nice cabinet but the original speakers were a bit sh*t.
 5. Solid. I take that as a compliment but probably not the most exciting descriptions!
 6.
Get you, little show off! Hahaha. Is that the one with the babicz bridge?
😂 It is. Not convinced I can hear any extra sustain but it looks cool! 😀
 7. I've got the jazz with the fancy bridge (so it's the higher end one) and it's a lovely bass. It's been my #1 since I got it.
 8. I actually think it doesn't matter. I've had electronic goods that just don't work after been sitting unused for ages. Can't explain it. I'm convinced it's just down to luck.
 9.
Happy to let people play it. It's a plank of wood.
This. You can normally judge a character within a few seconds enough to decide if they're too drunk or an idiot. You'd let someone use your mobile of they asked probably, that's far more risky and fragile. People need to get a grip when it comes to gear. Saying that, I dont own any mega expensive gear.. my thoughts might change if I did.
 10.
I use a bit of FastFret to smooth out new strings. Keeps them sounding fresh for longer too.
This. I cant say I've really been precious about what brands or types of strings Ive used over the years, any medium steels will do me, but as a habit I always fire on a bit of fast fret. Its probably counterproductive, but to my ears (and fingers) it levels the playing field out a bit between the different brands. I much prefer the feel of older strings anyway, When I was gigging heavily I could easily go 6 months without changing.
 11. Yep, it's true. His band page posted something. Scary news.
 12.
Looks like a really good buy! How is it for weight in comparison to your other Jazz!
My aerodyne jazz is super light but it's designed like that.. slim body etc. My cheapo Harley benton jazz is outrageously heavy. This is veering towards the lighter side. Feels well balanced too although I've not gigged it yet so things may become apparent after I use it properly. After a week of playing it I'm not convinced I can 'hear' extra sustain from the massive chunk of metal for a bridge. But, that may be more noticeable when properly recording. Delighted with it though!
 13. To my ears there is two distinct bass notes. A solid hard bass than a layered squelchy thing with each note matched with a thudding kick drum. I just got my pedal board on the go and beleive it or not my zoom ms60b has a synth in it called zsyn which gets very close! Tone on the bass down, and around 70/30 dry/wet blend gets very close. I'll try get something similar with just a filter and dirt but I think a cheesy synth pedal will always get you closer.
 14. https://youtu.be/wzhQ89Gbtqc And, as you asked duncy, heres's a quick video. Mobile phone camera so not the best but I think it gets the point across! plays nicely and sounds awesome to my ears.. perhaps not in this bid though.. Apologies in advance for the man boobs. .. 😂
 15.
I like the colour too. So you now have two Jazzes and an Aerodyne?
Certainly is.. plus a wee rubbish black thing which I bought to defret but cant get the frets off! 😂😂 I've added a family photo. The godin 6 string, I borrowed that off Dave butt about 15 years ago... so technically isn't mine... 😂
 16.
See I thought the Mooer sounds absolutely awful! That goes to show that you really just need to try as many as you can, and gig them too, a shop/bedroom does not let you know how it sounds on a gig Si
Agreed. Some things just sound different in a live situation. Especially on bass.
 17.
Frashy, you know the drill! Get pictures posted! I've got serious P Bass lust at the mo, I kinda want to buy the bitsa Grangur is selling, but I'm doing up my Jim Deacon so I'll put the money into that instead. We want pics and audio!
haha I'vejust spent every second since i posted this trying to get photos up... it no worky
 18. I was actually on the hunt for a p bass but came across this on gumtree just down the road from me for not alot of money so took a punt. There's not alot of info and I can't quite tell what model this is. Seems only a few years old. Needed a slight tweak in the bridge but it now plays like butter and sounds superb. Really need to get new strings into it but I am absolutely delighted. The bridge alone seems to get a lot of love although I can't say I've seen one like it. Bass Collection is very much a brand you should look out for if you are looking for a cheapish jazz! I really hate the decal though! 😂
 19.
AC/DC with Axl were awesome when I saw them in June - even better than with Brian the previous year. I think Cliff's great, but his absence would not stop me going back for more.
I've heard this by numerous people. I was sceptical but they pulled it off by all accounts. I guess the politics of the band totally change when a **** like that gets involved, so if it is related to axl, I reckon it's to do with things out with the music!
 20. Harley benton jazz bass... 100 quid. Easily giggable.
 21.
give the m-audio AV40's a look. i have a pair which im currently getting repaired but they lasted me 6 years and gave me some satisfying results, under 100 quid now i believe
It seems the av40s have been replaced with the av42s... but there is also the av32s which are just the 3" version. At the moment these seem to be the favourites. Decent reviews online too plus they have everything I need.
 22.
How are you connecting the monitors to the computer? Are you using an interface? I ask because if you're using an interface, you'll obviously connect through the 2xmono outputs from the interface. If you are just using a simple built-in sound card, then you'll likely need to buy speakers that connect via 3.5mm If you need something that connects to 3.5mm, then you're largely reduced to fancy PC speakers. If you're connecting from an interface, then for my money, a set of KRK Rokit 5s would be perfect. That said, probably about £100 over budget, unless you find some used. Si
It's an audiophile 2496 audio card... old but ok. It has stereo rca outs so I'm all good on that front. Thanks
