Solid body... fender aerodyne jazz. It was a looker when I got it... but due to the scuffs the resale value wouldn't be worth moving it on! Plays really nice!y though so I fancy bringing some new life to it.

I have a bass that has a white binding round it. The body is full of chips and scrapes but not in a cool roadwork kinda way so I'm thinking about stripping it right back to the wood. I've done it before on other bodies with careful use of a heat gun and scraper but never with a binding. Anyone done this?reckon this could cause complications?

I'm really digging the old school p bass tone at the moment. But for playability I love a jazz. So my p/j jazz is perfect for me!

I've got a jazz with p/j pickups however I'm really enjoying using the p pickup on its own these days. So currently I will say precision.

a simple upgrade of stock pickups will make a big change... definately worth thinking about doing that first. I've played a p/j and for me the tonal range is awesome... but I really dont think I'd slice up a decent P bass to add one in! haha.

Had the ms60b set up at the end of my chain and used it for a preamp (which never changed), eq (tweaked gig to gig) and a tap tempo delay. The b3 was then used for all the interesting effects. For my use though it was a bit over kill so just ended up keeping the ms60b as it was and got a few select individual pedals. However, I've done a US tour with the b3 (for simplicity) and it done the job admirably!

I've used actual beer bottle tops with a hole drilled into them. Had the bass 9 years... changed the strap once in that time but I've never had an issue with the strap. Plus it looks cool as f***. 😂

Can't beat the b3 as a preamp... they all sound pretty great. However, per patch you only get 3 slots, so if you use one as preamp then you're down to two... might work for you, might not. I loved mines except for the fuzzes. Edit: just noticed you've already sourced a gt10b. Ah well... if still recommend a b3 too! 😂

I asked this same question years ago. At one point my pedal board had 4 stereo outs which were totally useless. Having a stereo rig, or simply having a split signal doesn't mean you'll use stereo outs on all the pedals. I would guess that it's more for recording/ studio use, but I'm also a bit stumped why so many have stereo out.

Admittedly I do have a 4ohm 2x10 with nice speakers so it's probably squeezing as much out the amp as it can, but I also have run it through some generic 1x15 8ohm without any noticeable issue with volume.

If it's run through decent cone area then 250 watts will be more than enough for the majority of situations. Perhaps a bit bland sounding, but I think that's just a markbass thing.

It's amazing how good these backing guys get. I saw Pink years ago at a festival. Probably my only experience of a 'pop' concert. Well.... Every single member were immense. Seem to remember the guitarist taking a 8 finger tapping solo. Jaws were dropped that day (and probably swinging). Isn't Paul turner doing a stint with will young?? 😅

It's decent. It's not the rhcp that I want to hear though. I feel they are in a rut like so many other bands that get massively big... I.e they write songs that stick to a recipe that has worked commercially. The bass on this certainly doesn't excite me!

[/quote] Hi mate, I've heard it on guitar...and it sounds Awesome. I went to an Alex hutchings clinic... He showed exactly what the thing could do... Jaw dropping! However... On bass I would want to use amp sims (and cab sims). Pretty much one clean sounding amp. On talk bass there's a good bit of interest in it.... But almost none on here! I really love my zoom ms60b as a preamp but I miss having a selection of other bits to play with. Even the gt10b seems a touch limiting compared to the gt100

Played fingers pretty much from day 1 (nearly 20 years.... sh*t) but recently had a short hiatus. I watched a bobby Vega clip a few months ago and made a conscious effort there and then to learn properly with a pick. It's the most fun I've had playing bass in years.... In fact if I stick to it I reckon I'll be a far better player! My right hand finger technique has really slipped though.. AmaziNG how quick it's deteriated.

Definitely more of an old school sound, but to my ears it works better in a band Context. However, rather than a limiter, how about an eq pedal of some sort? Some people prefer to scoop the mids abit for slap... I dont... But alot do. Plus you could use it to tame the volume. Fraser

A drunken lefrash can't work out if that can control tap tempo and expression pedal? Or is it a simple way to get to patch selection? That's awesome on its own.

My stock answer for pretty much everything on here.... zoom ms60b. Pick up a 2nd hand one for 50-60 quid. Has a fretless effect which works quite well. Plus you've got the option to pop in a bit of reverb and eq to get it sitting right. All in one boss sized pedal.

I love his playing within a band setup. I also love a lot of his YouTube clips showing off his chops etc... However I really hate the mega fast slapping he does! Technique wise it's flawless..
