1.
Unfortunatly the seller sent me a message stating he forgot to put a buy it now price on it, and is no longer for sale. My guess someone has offered him a lot more than what it finished on, or he wanted more than what it went for. Something doesn't smell quiet right so I'll be contacting eBay with this.
That stinks.
2. Blimey... £230. Complete bargain if kosher (and it does look like a proper RW). Who got it?

10. When we're doing small pub gigs I'm normally on top of the PA and do go straight into two channels on the desk using 1/4 jacks or into a tape input if that's available. Problem is when we play larger shows and the PA is at the back of hall my leads wont reach. RecenyI had to use two of the house DI boxes for left and right and there seemed to be a problem getting a working signal. Was just trying to find a more elegant solution.
11. Hi - I need to run a stereo feed from an iPod (backing tracks) to the PA - can anyone recommend a suitable, good quality dual / stereo DI box? Cheers
12. Thank you. That's really helpful and confirms what was at the back of my mind. Is there a way to check if the problem is with the DDP that I've been supplied with (it's an SRT job from a number of years ago) or the software the new company are using? Is there a way to convert the DDP I've got into something they can use?
13. Hi - one for the sound technicians out there. My band are re-pressing a CD from a few years back. The company we're using are having trouble extracting an image from the DDP master and are suggesting that they use one of the CDs we originally pressed up last time round as the master. Is this a good thing to do or should I find a CD company that can work from the DDP we have?
14.
I know the OP is looking for DJ info but I hope he doesn't mind the minor detour/sidetrack... Fender Roadworn Jazzes are generally pretty light; or at least as 'general' as you can be with any model of bass. I have a Dingwall Jazz which is also quite light but it isn't your trad Jazz bass instrument.
+1 My favourite Jazz.... and no routing under the scratch plate (if I remember correctly) if you want to do the Jaco "no scratch plate" thing.
15. It's well worth trying Gumtree - my personal approach is to sell "locally" for cash.... but have also done PayPal transactions on there. Fascinated to see if you can transact this for Bitcoin though.... I think that might be a first in these parts!
16. Tried both - The Fender '62 and the Qtr Pounders are different pickups, If you want a more traditional sound, go with the Fenders - they're fine pickups with plenty or "air" in the sound. Sound especially nice when you play with your fingers. Qtr Pounders - also fine pups - are more aggressive sounding with more output. Not as articulate as the Fender's but still big, soild sounding pickups. If you can find some Fralins, they'all also sound grand. The are lots of options out there, but some of it'll come down to what you play and if you buy and sell on here it shouldn't be too hard to try them both and move on the one you don't want.
17. Slightly off topic, but here goes.... I'm always curious the effect these changes have on neck mass and the appearance / movement / disappearance of dead spots (kind of FatFinger in reverse) and the impact on the sound (if any) on an instrument.
18. Bought his Lindy Fralin precision pups. Great comms and swift despatch. No probs doing business again.
19. Watched the season ... spent the entire show gear spotting... sad eh! Wasn't at all sure about that red and black bass that seemed to feature prominently early on, but the instruments seemed to get more interesting as the show progressed... and probably closer to my taste :-)
20.
Does anyone know of a decent place I can go to try out a few basses, and make a purchase if I find one I like? I'd like to take my own strap. Somewhere accessible by train would be great. I have a budget of MAX £700
Wunjos (Bass Shop) on Denmark Street are full of very helpful people.... if you fancy a trip South. Might be worth giving them a call first to see what stock they have in (but hey do normally have lots of stuff... but no new Gibsons though if that's a consideration).
