1.
I use a Sampson airline , I really have difficulty telling any loss of tone , I love it .
Ditto - one of these.... and no patch cable as if plugs straight into the input jack on the guitar. Loss of tone..... maybe you might notice a tiny difference under "lab conditions".... but with drums, guitars and everything else going on you are not going to notice one little bit - front of house sound-man's going to affect your tone much more. The advantages far outweigh any perceived disadvantages.

4.
This is exactly why I use wireless dude! Well... not exactly... its mostly me that steps on my cables!
Ditto!
5. There's a quote attributed to Brian Setzer that I've always wondered about: "Bill Black only played on the A and the D strings. He never used the bottom E or the low G-always in the middle there" Anyone know if this is true... and I guess, if they do the same thing?

8. Yup... watch out for mud. 4-6 inches deep at Guilfest this weekend.
9. What's to stop someone making up a valid number (using the various number checkers available on the net)?
10. Always thought P's reminded me of wood/oak and Jazzes reminded me of iron/steel. Not the sound.... but impact.. if that makes sense. Hybrids?.... I always ended up on the neck pup.

12.
I prefer to set up on the left side of the stage (facing the audience) but it's more to do with the practicalities of wielding a large instrument rather than visual communication with the drummer. (edit) Interestingly because of the music we play, we find ourselves sharing the stage with a lot of bands using Double Bass. They nearly always set up on the right hand side of the stage.
Isn't that weird... exactly the same... especially the DB observation... which can be a pain if you're sharing backline!
13. All PMs replied to. Commiserations to Italy, but well done to Spain for an awesome performance.
14. From a mid '90s CIJ p-bass. No idea if they are the original factory fit pups, but from the look of the rubber pads, that would be about right.. *SOLD*
15. Wizard Thumpers - 6 - 9 months old. One owner... as new. £40 + postage. (Paypal gift) Part of my quest to find "my" pbass pickup ended with the Fender '62 pups, so these are up for grabs.
16. As the new owner of your orig tort plate, nice as the Freeman's are, your MIA looks much much nicer. Keep it.
17. Wow. You could buy one of these instead: http://www.ebay.co.u...8#ht_674wt_1270 .... and they're made of real wood.... (they are fab by the way)
18. They're pretty damn good - never bought instruments, but have bought plenty of other things (pick ups, strings, picks, stands, cables etc). Everything's always well packed, arrived on time and their updates are great. As the exchange rate gets better so do the prices - though it's not so good now as it was a few years back.
19. Also normally had good experience with Gumtree.... but have always done business face to face as a buyer or a seller and kept a wide berth of anything that didn't seem right. Well done to OP for outing the scammers and thanks for the heads up.
