1. One of the few basses I like with a white (aged) scratch plate on. Is that neck pick up really low, and what are those screws heads behind the bridge pick up?

5. Can anyone reccomend a power supply for my EBS Multicomp. I've been using various Maplin ones and they're all so noisy. Cheers
6. Dropped you a pm. No problem plugging in and having a listen.
7. Not normally a fan of Gibson basses but I'm kinda digging that, especially the white/cream + tort version,
8. Thanks. Fixed now. Hit post a little too early.
9. It's been gigged (maybe over 150 gigs) so expect some swirls, dinks and bumps. The main ones are shown in the attached pic (below the control plate; back of the bass; small chip in the varnish above the nut) - but nothing that affects the playability. Frets are good, neck is straight and action medium low. Fitted with a fresh set of 110 Rotosound Nickels. Sounds great, but I've got my eye on something new and this will have to go to make room. Note - I'm keeping the SKB case for another instrument so the bass is sold as seen £550 + postage. Surrey
10. Wunjo's are great (both stores). Nice folk... no problems with trying gear and not too shabby pricing.... but you've gotta ask!
11. Did the three back in 2010 as part of a coast to coast road trip. Start in Nashville, hit Memphis, and then New Orleans. Nashville's commercial, but cool. Memphis is fun but reminded me of stag and hen nights in Blackpool (Beale St had police body searches in the evenings!). New Orleans has a whole different vibe (kind of European) and is probably the most interesting place to be if you just want to hang out and take in the sights, sounds..... and smells. If I were to do the three again, I'd spend most time in Nashville and New Orleans. You can hit the Gibson factory in Nashville and Gruhns is fun. Make sure to get to Gracelands and Sun studios in Memphis. Have a great trip!
12. I'm digging that neck and the nitro thing. Need to see the colour up close and personal.... but seems like a decent package if it's close to the roadworn's in quality.
13. Regular gigs in London and South East await. Influences - Jim Jones Revue / Clash / Reverend Horton Heat / Supersuckers / Hives / Nick Curran We're looking for a band member so no session guys - you must have your own transport + kit.
14. A little too wide for me. Really regretting not buying the light blue 70s reissue P you had on here a short while back... definitely "one that got away". You haven't got another one of those kicking around do you ?
15. What size are the bushings? (the outer diameter of the bit that drops into the headstock)
16. The actual show was pretty good in the end. The lead up was another story, 4 bands bill. Sound checks planned for between 4.30 - 7pm. We're on 2nd of 4 bands, so we arrive around 5 in good time for a sound check slot. Only problem is, the headline band didn't start checking until 7pm... and then they borrow our drummer as their's won't arrive till gone 9... oh, and the singer's not here yet either. I'm not going into the culprits, but there are a few chaps with reputations involved. Just a little disrespectful methinks. Anyway, the sound-men produce a few miracles and manage to get everyone sorted and we're only running an hour late. Hey ho.... cards are marked... will be avoiding a bill with them in the future.

19. Great - that seems the most sensible. Was checking over a gumtree purchase and noticed that it was wired the "long way" round.
20. Does it matter which way up you install Jazz pickups.... i.e. should the wires run from the E string end (and I guess under the pick-up) or from the G string end to the control cavity? (Sorry if already answered... a quick search didn't turn up anything obvious). Cheers
21.
The best ways to test bolt on basses is to hit the strings and feel the bottom of the guitar for resonance and also, to try pull offs on the higher frets acoustically and then check for sustain.
Hi - could you tell me more about how this works?
