3.
Here's an example - you'll hear that the 70's one absolutely slays the others.
mmmm... maple neck....
4.
I've had problems on one of my Sennheiser e608's where the wire which connects to the mic capsule had broken just at the flexible head point (the wobbly bit!) The wire gets a lot of flexing there and eventually breaks. Is it possible to plug the mics directly into a desk or other mic input point and test it? That will eliminate any potential fault on the wireless packs.
Cheers I think that's pretty much the problem with the E608 - we're tried it through multiple "known to be working" wireless transmitter / receiver combinations so I'm sure it's the mic and not the wireless packs, and when you wiggle the head around it sometimes seems to make contact. Assuming I can find someone to do the work (I can't... I've got bass players fingers!) is there anything that we can do to reduce the possibility of it happening again? Of it is there a better cost effective replacement out in the market place?
5. Yes - it's definitely the mics. Neither work with three different working wireless units.
6. They're not - both are plugged into wireless transmitters.
7. Not bass related (although I am the bass player!) ... I have two clip on mics (used by our sax players) NADY CM-60 and a Sennheiser E608 Both have stopped working... can anyone point me at someone who can diagnose the problem / fix the mics?

10. Sorry... no experience of other audio editors... Just Audacity. If the sticking point is the LAME encoder, you could use Audacity without it, output to WAV and then convert the audio file to MP3 or many other formats using something like Helium Audio Converter. Seems a bit of a faff though for a one time file download.

12. Honkin', hollerin', raspin' rock and roll TENOR sax player needed to become part of a DUAL Tenor sax section. Some backing vocals, hand claps and general percussion ability would be useful. Access to a Baritone sax would be handy but not essential. Think The Sonics... The Wailers (not Bob Marley's!)... Los Mambo Jambo... Louie Prima... Grady Gaines... Las Vegas Grind...Nick Curran... Little Richard... the Champs.... then give us a shout. We're a gigging band (guitar / bass / drums / tenor sax) with shows in London and Europe and some record company interest - it's a wild show with lots of audience interaction. Drop us a line with your experience, age, some of your favourite sax tunes and what you think the word "Ungawa!" means to you No session players... this is a fun project.

15. Hi - anyone got any recommendations for shortscale strings - round wound nickel plated steel.. 105 / 85 / 65 / 45 (so a shortscale equivalent of Fender 7250m's). Cheers
16. Hi - anyone point me at a manufacturer of one of these?
17. Shorties... love em... Hofner Club / Dano '63 / Mustang Japanese Reissue. All fit in a mono guitar case, so nice and easy to fly! Some shorties don't though, if that's an issue for you (it was for me), I do find the Mustang is the one that feels the "smallest" if that makes sense. Tuning down - I don't normally but it might get a bit flappy if you get much lower than Eb
18. Had a twang on a Gibson ES Les Paul Bass recently. Lovely guitar... but mucho dinero. The thing that caught my eye was the flatwounds it was strung with. Anyone know what they use as standard on the these instruments? Strings had blue wrappings at either end and had a slightly textured feel. http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2015/Memphis/ES-Les-Paul-Bass.aspx#BALP15FDNH1
