1. long way for me to walk unfortunately Enjoy it , you 'll do good! Have to say, I know Mayall is a highly repected musician but... I saw him about 4 years ago and he was incredibly dull. He seemed to love himself and reminded me of Jimmy Saville . (Tracksuits!) I know what he did in the 60's but I think that the others who played with him went onto bigger and better things. Don't mind the blues but if he's anything like I saw him , you'll probably be better.
2. Have 2-3 drinks beforehand(no more). That should sort the nerves out, then do what the others suggest.....
3. I used to think going back a few years ,that they all looked like that boring Fener (sorry) I was told by various people'you don't need an acoustic bass' etc. However, some really nice basses are out there now in terms of eye candy.. ..Dean Psycho Cabby, Takamine, Washburn , Charvel Surfcaster etc . I have a cheapo acoustic, but if I saw one of the above not too pricey I may go for one to round up yhe collection
4. Where I am,(central Lon don/Waterloo etc.) I used to go to WH Smiths. Now they are very hard to get. As always, Guitar Mags are in abundance, but us Bass players don't get a look in. I f WH Smiths no longer sell it then I believe this mag will go to the wall like the previous mag back in the '90s
5.
ah well! women and children first! seems like they are dancin with the devil and goin crazy from the heat. I'll bet they have to Jump to get to the next level and maybe your just a little bit of a shy boy onstage which may not make a ladies night in buffalo but hey there's always a hot dog and a shake! I would just take out my Elephant Gun and give them Big Trouble... you could also get on some Sensible shoes and walk right onto Easy Street where those California girls are waiting for the Ice cream man to deliver some Perfect Timing! And at the end of it you need to just Stand Up and hope for some Lady Luck cause you know A little aint enough and when it all goes Damn Good you know Thats Life! take it easy mate definitely not the end of the world just a little one trick pony cover band!! andy
That's good.......
6. You could always join a ''Van Hagar'' tribute band. Judging by you 'holding them back' or words to that effect ,sounds like you'll be seeing them on tour at download or the like. If not, then they are pretentious twats and good riddance to them
7. They've changed the look of my model. They don't seem to push the Diamond series as much, or is it me?
