1.
The Peel in Kingston is great but not sure if they do covers or just touring stuff. Worth a go though
Wow! Don't think we're worthy. Some of the bands that play there are fairly big names. Thanks tho'
 2. Was looking at this myself, but not used one yet. I'll be looking at this thread and see what the users here think. I recently posted a thread about recording my band's rehearsals ,so will weigh everything up etc.
 3.
was going to suggest the Grey Horse. The same guy also puts on bands up at the Kings Head in Acton - bigger venue, but you do have to lug your kit up a fire escape.
Thanks for that, Aah, that be Richard. We're not too keen on him. He just wants to line his pockets. He doesn't really like the idea of paying people . Even if 1 man and his dog are watching , he'll charge a fiver or something. Mr. Drums had problems like this with him in his other band Any other venues anybody
 4. Wow! This'll sound messy , but stick with it...... 1.) open hand 2.)bend index finger and ring finger together towards your palm 3.)keep those two fingers where they are and hold them down with your thumb. 4,)while doing this ,raise pinkey(littlefinger) and other finger and stretch them GENTLY as high as you can 5.) Alternate fingers. 6.)you may decide to do one or two hands at a time,it's up to you. but go easy . Hope that doesn't sound too confusing.
 5. Did you pay for this in blood money?? Nice..... now go get some luminous paint and scare your children.....
 6. If you can't get on with another band member, quit! Music is supposed to be enjoyable, not another' job'. My last experience of not getting on with another band member(guitarist,surprise..): 4 strangers (me & three others) all join band together through a couple of ads. We never knew each other. Eventually, the scenario was : singer, rarely rehearsed. Me &Drums get on fine. Guitarist, critical of most of my playing(it made me improve alot tho') Guitarist very quiet most of the time(not a man of words). The thing I did,(because we all joined without knowing each other) was see who was gonna quit first . It was almost me,but I persevered. Eventually ,guitarist quit. Singer hates guitarist, drummer thinks guitarist is hard work. End result :I get new singer,as he 'wasn't available for a month' and me and drummer get new guitarist. Irionically,I have a 'friend' request on facebook from guitarist ,but have iognored as he is hard work. Whatever band I'm in now, if I don't get on with all members,I walk. Life's too short.
 7.
loving the Van Halen esk paint job on the one on the left. 80's tastic! good stuff.
Me too! Also one on far right. What do you think of the 12 string??
 8.
Ahh...thank you very much indeed! Sooo...which one is the one you previously mentioned in this thread then?
The latter ,with the huge humbucker.
 9. Nice.....lovin' the G&L 2000
 10. Howdy! Could anyone advise me of any venues in the above areas or similar? I'm playing in a Rock covers band. We have cd, business cards etc. It seems like the Grey horse in kingston is the only one we can find at the mo' , but we need others . Unfortunately ,I don't drive but can easily get to Richmond,Teddington . (will try the red lion in Twickenham ,once we've got 1st gig with present line up out of the way) Any phone nos.'links would be much appreciated. Cheers RATM
 11.
By the way...Is the Telecaster bass the same as the 51 re-issue Precision?
There are two versions of the Telecaster . One version ,is the one you've mentioned here. The pickup , is a single coil located in the centre . (sting etc.) The other version 1972 onwards , had just one Humbucker pickup right by the neck. Haven't tried the earlier/'51 version(supposed to sound a little like an upright thud) The other one, is the thuddy type ,with absolutely no treble.
 12. He purchased my Behringer V-Amp Pro today . Nice guy to do business with
 13.
Looks like the Behringer v-amp is sold . Bump for the rest....
V-AMP SOLD ... BUMP
 14. Sounds like you like the markbass, and you use your Ricky's alot . Therefor, I would say get the rattley bass setup in a shop and buy a markbass. When you have markbass, sell your present amp.
 15.
Yeah, I know the Precisions rock, and I love mine, it's so versatile. They're not the bassiest sounding basses though in my opinion though...as in, not dark and thick, almost thundery. Don't get me wrong, I can get mine to sound huge! So, what basses have that dark, rumbly bassy thud? Almost old old old school sound? I could do with just trying a load out, but that's never an easy option when shops don't often stock the huge range that this kind of covers (in my opinion). J
Fender Telecaster Bass. You won't get more thyuddy than that
 16. Welcome Twickenham, home of Steve Allen .....
 17. Looks like the Behringer v-amp is sold . Bump for the rest....

 20.
I've got a chocolate thunder one if you are interested?
Thanks for quick response I'm trying to figure if it would go with tweed. How much are you after, and have you got any pictures? Cheers Ray
 21.
Zoom H4 Fantastic.
Wow! Thanks for quick reply. I'll lok into it
 22. Howdy! I'm still in shock at the appalling demo that our band did a couple of months back. The story goes: Drummer and 1 of the guitarists not working. Rest of us are. Instead of goiing to friendly and familiar territory(Ian at Airplay ) the guitarist knows someone who knows someone (2 fly -by-night dj's) who'll record us at a cheaper price. Disaster! Anyway, rather than upset the rest of the band who are all nice guys. I was wondering if there is a device that's GOOD ,which will record us so that we could put that version onto our website and if people heard that ,they could see that we are much better than the demo cd on there at present. If there is something, and it worked, I would leave demo on webpage but put the newer recording on there as well so that thge rest of the band will see..... I know line6 do something, but if there is something fairly cheap, portable, easy to use and good , please let me know. Cheers
