1. Welcome 12 string. Must mess around with my 8 string now after seeing you. It sounds a cross between Greek wedding music and Lemmy. Will look at your website later. Do you play whole gig with the 12?
2. I suppose from my angle,I'd put it down to the female voice I listen to the most. For me that would be Doro Pesch  Bass player to go with that? Billy Sheehan
3.
Well this is going to be the bass that im going to use forever(I hope!) so £2500, maybe a wee bit more if my parents love me enough! lol
If that's the case and you're never gonna sell it, get one custom made
4.
case still available?
Sorry it's gone. Thaanx for looking. Will remove at weekend
5. Haven't read all posts (yet!). Me? In my 40's,was there for NWOBHM from the start. Skipped last 2 years of school listening 2 my older bros collection of Sabbath,Hawkwind ,Budgie,Zep etc. Been to 100's of gigs, and adored the thrash phase. Going to gigs was free and easy. Now, haven't seen anything steamroller along like Metallica(who basically did it on their own terms). Too many bands seem inconsistent now,and rarely do I buy albums consistently by the same artists like I used to. Everything seems more manufactured than ever before, with shows such as Pop Idol,Britain's got no talent etc. I seem to be going to less and less gigs these days. Ater seeing Metallica for the upteemth times at the 2 x02 gigs lateley my next gigs should be jean michel jarre , Chickenfoot and then Rammstein. Getting TKTS for anything these days pisses me off!! How a working man( who 's company won't give internet access to certain sites) is supposed to get tkts is a mystery. I have to give my friends(graphic designers/art directors) my credit card details/passwords etc. Or I don't go. I listen to planet rock, and LBC (can't stand self centered a**holes on mainstrem stations) I get majority ofstuff from friends who download it etc. I paid a premium years ago and have no regrds for record companies anymore. Other than that, the music scene is great today
6. I used to be a finger man all of the time.I wasn't in bands for long periods really altho' I've been in quite a few. When this present band materialised,I was albeit a little rusty and casual. However, despite being a bit of a knob the original guitarist made me raise my game and now I use a pick MOST of the time ! I now believe that people should learn both,so that whatever style of music you play you'll be able to do the job .
7. I would suggest ,just save up a few more pounds and get something from the Dean range of basses if you wanna rock
8. If for whatever reason. you're not enjoying it leave! Most bands I've been in have a''' democratic'' approach,(ie majority) Sit back, relax, now go to Partysounds or whatever site you want and join/form something better...
9. Top bloke! He bought some hangers for his collection of basses from me. Paid instantly
10. After a yellow one someday. Also like the surf green like the billy sheehan attitude
11. Awesome setup! I have the AG500SC/DB112(TWEED!) Love Aguilar
12. Mine's going for£250.00(pics in the for sale section)
13. Unfortunately ,the smaller the rig-the more expensive it is. Alot of it comes down to wattage(ie band rehearsal/gigging situations) I would say you need around 250 watts as a rough guidline. If you could stretch to around £700.00 you could get yourself a used Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout combo. I was after one of these for a while as I don't drive. I decided in the end to go the cab/head route and now own an Aguilar cab and head which is awesome! Now and again Genz Benz heads come up on here and they look good. Other Basschatters may have other recommendations If you have a car then you may be interested in my Eden Nemesis 1x10 combo(or is it 1x15?) going for a lot less. Hope this helps
14. Like Out7shined, mistaahbenn ,al and silverfoxnik KD is a really nice guy to do business with.A credit to Basschat
15. Now,if this was available LAST YEAR I would've had this..but now I have an Aggie Bump for you
16. When you get to your 40's your body changes for the worst unfortunately imho. However, isn't it amazing how tense our bodies are /have been over the years without realising.. When I was seeing a fitness trainer on a weekly basis ,she was showing me more yoga/pilates movements. She obviously mentioned the AT to me as well. Believe it or not ,altho' I'm only 6ft tall I had /have a tendancy to lower my head when talking to 'smaller' people. When I tell people I'm only 6ft some of them look in disbelief due to my large build/frame. Of course ,having a heavy bass on your shoulders isn't always good. The Billy Sheehan method of having your bass the same height sitting down and standing up is essential for good posture. The Hookie method ,altho' it looks good is actually bad.(not good for bald people either) I also recommend pilates/yoga as well.(Not enough hours in the day to do it all ).
17. Back in the early days, altho' it had loads of adverts it was brilliant and the only mag for us. Now ,I'd only buy it if something/someone's in there that appeals to me. Over the years the ads are still there but it seems to be full of lots of people that aren't too well known over here. It needs ,like the gu***r mags a dvd/cd . Come to think of it so does the uk bgm...
18. Nice guy to do business with!
