3. Hope it all works out for ya. The price of lamb and wool will bne better than here anyway
4. I use a stool. It's got wooden legs. Unfortunately the cushion bit is flowery. It was my brothers I'm after some fake leather and a staple gun .
5.
I use a little wheeled chair like this that I pulled out of a skip when I lived above an office supply shop.
I use a cheapo version of this as my pc chair
6.
MB1. ...."I dont like Mondays!".
Bob Geldof's wife didn't either
7.
My objection is pure prejudice... we cover Basket Case and American Idiot. I hate those songs... I know absolutely nothing about them except everything I've heard sounds dreadful. I seem to remember they covered "The Saints are Coming" which was just rude!! I think this is my repost to the current thread about songs that are easy and you like to play - this is about songs that are easy that I hate to play You can add "I Fought the Law" to that list and, before you say anything, I'm a big Clash fan. Nasty bass line on that though.
The Clash? Now that's a band I can't get on with
8. Cool bass. I agree with you Still thinking about the Dean Taxi bass in yellow tho'
9. Saw 'em a few years ago when I 1st got cable. MTV used to keep showing this outdoor gig . I found that slightly amateurish. I then saw them on TV at the Woodstock festival and thought they were rubbish. I bought single ''When I Come around'' and think that's really good. When I did a birthday gig a few years back ,we did'' basket case''. Great song that most cover bands do now as standard. About 3 years ago while playing my cds at work, colleague put American idiot on . I now have it,and think it's really good. I think that they are all very talented ,and also like the look of MD'S bass. Talking about bands that could be hated:NINE INCH NAILS !! More meat on an oxo cube, they sound more like Human League when they should be more like Ministry!
10.
Does he keep speeding up and slowing down as well and forget where the [gear] changes are?!
Yeah,pretty much.....
11. I get driven by mr.Drums. No sense of direction, jolty at times but I'm not complaining.
12. I notice that nobody has filmed one of these on You Tube. I think that if you did a demo on there, it would sell very quickly . That's if you 're into that kind of thing..
13. What about a teacher? Or a DVD of a Bass player you like ?
14. I've noticed that not much bass stuff is advertised on flea bay these days. Go back to over a year, there was so much to drool over..
15. I was thinking the same question. Green is the colour ,surely
16. You have a good budget there. You seem to have a fairly good idea already. Things to think about: Scale length...shorter scale may be better if you play guitar already. 4or 5 string.....you did play guitar so you may miss a string or two. You'll get lots of advice here, and you may even purchase a good'un from someone on this forum.
17. Awesome bass! I detest garlic tho'. I think cats piss smells better! (Yes really) If it came with a case, get rid of the case. I could imagine you'll have to get high quality cleaner for the bass tho'. Let me know what polish(not poleish ) you go for if you do
18. Went to a Malmsteen gig a few years ago(Schenker had a strop and didn't turn up!) Anyway Yngwie threw the body of one of his cheapy strats into the crowd. It just missed my head but me &my friend got it. My friend got a lot of criticism when he tried to sell it to Malmsteen fans. I think he still has it...
19. I bought a hohner professional off a good friend of mine back around '89-90. Anyway that was passive, felt great. The only problem I had was that altho' the pickups were EMG SELECT they sounded a bit wooly and not as bright as I'd like. I've seen someone use the one with the active/passive switch and that sounds better. With the active setting, its LOUD!! I sold mine about 3 years ago as I got a full body Steiney which is the real mccoy. One other thing to mention...when I was going to band rehesrsal in some house in Fulham I was told tobe careful as the area 's a bit rough and that could easily be mistaken for a gun.
20. Don't really think it would work in certain pubs. I would like to do it in the right surroundings tho'. If I could retrieve my 1st bass (Hondo11 -precision copy) that would be ideal. Having said that, by the time I'm finished it would be about 3 in the afternoon and I'd get a bill for damaging he pub
21.
MB1. British and Earlier the better!.... Pre Gibson!....and Yes they are all quite heavy!...built to last!
+1 I had a GP 350 WATT COMBO. Unfortunately for me ,it was too awkward for my flat. It didn't seem to like my Telecaster much either. And it was heavier than my sister in law. I love the look tho' especially with LEDS . Horses for courses ,I suppose. I thought that my Eden Nemesis, and Aguilar sounded much more clear and defined.
