1. sorry to but in but ,I have Toneport GX and think it's great. Unfortunately ,it doesn't record. Think I need Riffworks. Has anyone used this, and has anyone got a copy (ahem) for sale.?
2. When I first started, I never used to place thumb on any pickup. I used to gently lean the side of my hand in the centre of the bass between the pickups. Now I always put thumb on a pickup. Regarding tthe 'other fingers 'on the right hand,I suppose you could gently rest them on pickup. You could try different techniques if you get restless(like rolling/flamenco). This depends on the style you play. Also, you could try playing simple songs using each finger from index-pinkey one at a time. Failing that, you could just carry n picking or use the thumb for slap...
3. Sent back cable that packed up ,without receipt. Received replacement in a couple of days, due to the 'lifetime guarantee'. Nice people to do business with
4. I've tried various effects. I thought that the Zoom B21U was the best in terms of using with a band. However, I recently got a Boss ME-50B and took it with me toband practice and already use it now for 3 songs. If you just wanna use effects at home, the Boss ME-8B has loads of stuff. The difference about seperate pedals v multieffects? With seperate boxes, you should know what particular sound you're after. With multieffects, there are lots of good and lots of virtually unusable noises imho So you can find a setting or 2 that's right for you eventually Or you could leave well alone and get a decent amp/cab etc.instead
5. Actually Mandy Coven used to endorse these. They do nice red and blue ones
6. Rudy Sarzo , Billy Sheehan and Randy Coven .
7. You may get more offers for the grass. Nice bass tho'
8.
I used adhesive vinyl on this one but if you wanted to paint it you would have to be very good at sanding and use a lot of masking tape.
They look cool too!
9.
Might try a hobby shop for some kind of adhesive vinyl? I used it for the stripes on my Jag
That looks awesome
10. Everyone knows that Sid Vicious was the best
11.
No he's not!
+1
12.
Just a quickie. I've always had a little hankering for one of these. Anyone know what a reasonable price for a vgc used one would be?
There is one for sale on the bay at the moment. Nobody bid for it last week ,so it's been relisted. I thhink it's £600.00 min bid -£800.00 buy it now . Seems about right
13.
There's a phone number on the Summerfield home page - 0191 414 9000.
Thanks for that. I've left message on their answerphone. I'll let you know outcome tomorrow.
14. Loving the Lakland . The 'Ricky''s good too
15. The best thing to do ,is to try as many basses as possible until you find one or two that catch the ear/eye. There are so many types out there now. You could try Dean,Schecter,Gibson/Epiphone thunderbird/BCRich/washburn for starters. Also ,if your bass feels good and it's only the sound that's bothering you,you could try effects pedals,or possibly a change of amp.
16. I'm still confused . I sent them email last week, heard nothing. Took cable back to shop, but was told to post it to the address on box. (no uk address) Tried to get onto the link (see above) ,that didn't work. It looks like unless I can find a lead(sorry) to a uk dept. I'll have to put it down to bad experience. I realise leads do cease to operate at any given moment, but if there is a lifetime guarantee what about an address for the company you purchased from?
17. Yep,the new strings can clearly be heard. I think this pedal's really good. It seems to cater for many types of distortion.
18. Been on PW website. Mainly American. Looked up uk Stores. Followed link to summerfieldmusic, but error message keeps coming up. 'not recognised oin our server' Does anyone have uk phone no. or proper link to website?
19. Just nipped down to shop. Nice guy etc. but said that there 's an address at back of box to contact. (usa) I'll check the thread above, and see what develops. Thanks guys
20.
Where did you originally buy it from? S.P.
Alberts music shop Twickenham. (local)
21. Howdy! My cable works no more. I have box,but NO RECEIPT . I've emailed someone on the website last week and had no reply. Any ideas ? Cheers
22.
Warwick Corvette Taranis 4 string & standard tuning is BEAD http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/72495
That's a nice bass.......
23. The money doesn't really bother me. I just like to play in front of more than one man and his dog/cat . Looks like 90% + think I should just carry on regardless. I'll tell this to Mr. Drums . We may form a duo Triangle and Tambourine,(and probably getmore interest).
24.
The other problem; it was £5 on the door! In my experience most British audiences are tight fisted gits, and are unlikely to pay to see a band they don't know!
Yeah ,I wouldn't charge £5.00 . It should've been free. I did mention that
25. Bump. It's free ! I want nothing....
