Things I'd like: Stu Hamm's yellow fretless Kubicki...a yellow Washburn Status..a salmon pink Washburn Status.... a White Steinberger cricket bat from the '80s.....Randy Coven's bass with Tremolo (vigier?).. TM Stevens lairy coloured Warwick ...a trans trem Steiney ...Ithink that's enough

For a moment I thought that the bass had already been posted. Dunno why you never used this forum,tho' not my place to comment. Anyway ,it does sound a bit ropey and I wouldn't part with bass until payment was made. What part of Nigeria are you posting it to? Did you really win the lottery?

Walked in to Bass cellar in Denmark st. about 12 yrs ago.(they were ok then) Came out with this. Found it fairly easy to adapt . Still has original roundwound strings (light as anything black top going into machiine head) It's made by Vester(custom). Wouldn't mind getting the fretted version on the cheap

Did he ever make a bass book in the '80s ? Can't find it ,but I've got a fairly vague memory of this indstructional book which was mellow and laid back. Apart from that,don't know much about the guy. R.I.P. anyway

The basic rule of thumb,is that Fender should cater for all playing styles . What amp do you use? Have you fiddled with the tone etc.? I would've thought that if you have a choice of active/passive settings on your bass you should decide if active is for you or not. (many basses are active only so it's nice if you have both settings) Also, what kinda stuff are you playing? You may want to have a pedal,or a sansamp DI box to get the sound you're after.........

Got 2 pairswith the Jean Michel Jarre Oxygen dvd .(the red/blue cardboard ones) Found quality intermittent, and am looking for a proper pair myself. Any idea of cost?

I have a KBA-16 COMBO. I got it when I part exchanged my old peavey TNT combo (that peavey was so crap) Anyway this Kusto is good, and loud and handles 5 string ok too. I think a metal bass player (Trivium??) has an endorsement with Kustom, so they can't be too bad..

long way for me to walk unfortunately Enjoy it , you 'll do good! Have to say, I know Mayall is a highly repected musician but... I saw him about 4 years ago and he was incredibly dull. He seemed to love himself and reminded me of Jimmy Saville . (Tracksuits!) I know what he did in the 60's but I think that the others who played with him went onto bigger and better things. Don't mind the blues but if he's anything like I saw him , you'll probably be better.

Have 2-3 drinks beforehand(no more). That should sort the nerves out, then do what the others suggest.....

I used to think going back a few years ,that they all looked like that boring Fener (sorry) I was told by various people'you don't need an acoustic bass' etc. However,some really nice basses are out there now in terms of eye candy.. ..Dean Psycho Cabby, Takamine, Washburn , Charvel Surfcaster etc . I have a cheapo acoustic,but if I saw one of the above not too pricey I may go for one to round up yhe collection

Where I am,(central Lon don/Waterloo etc.) I used to go to WH Smiths. Now they are very hard to get. As always, Guitar Mags are in abundance,but us Bass players don't get a look in. I f WH Smiths no longer sell it then I believe this mag will go to the wall like the previous mag back in the '90s
