  1. thanks for that, I never realised (I doubt whether the Ramones did either), I just count 11234 four times, always thought it was a bit odd but it all comes right because it equals 20 beats or 5 bars of 4/4, it also caused a fair degree of discussion in our band as well, we had to play the record to the guitarist several times till he reluctantly agreed I was right 😁
  2. I've pondered this question as well, I assume the 'Q' setting depends on how many EQ controls there are, for instance my Trace Elliot GP12 must have a narrow Q range but a simple Bass Mid and Treble amp must have a wider one, of course I could be talking bollocks
  3. just started playing this with the band and I was thinking a similar thing as I was doing the backing vocals the other night
  4. I use audacity to raise the pitch by an octave and slow it down, really makes the bass stand out, agree with @SpondonBassed about what seems right today won't seem right tomorrow, as long as it sounds right nobody will know anyway
  5. I stand corrected 😲
  6. If I go there will be trouble If I stay it will be double Well Joe, clearly you should have gone, so why bother asking?
  7. it's actually anti gravity air which makes them lighter, How much they'd weigh without this is truly mind boggling here's the proof, 4 minutes in
  8. me too and I've still got mine, must be 40 years old now and still going strong
  9. no phono input according to the specs
  10. I've a feeling the Government will regret picking a Saturday for the reopening of pubs, a Monday would have been far more sensible, given everybody more time to get used to the guidelines before a busy weekend, and if it's a nice sunny day it'll be even worse
  11. there's a lot of things to consider, whether you're at risk, whether anybody you're in contact is at risk and what the infection rate is like in your area, as well as what sort of job your band mates do, so we all have to make our own assessment as to what we feel comfortable with
  12. £400??????? no bids I wonder why?
  13. from what I remember people were buying them because they were good for the price, (everybody likes a bargain) but I suspect they were soon discarded one way or another because they still weren't as good as slightly more expensive budget basses
  14. the Peel session recordings are excellent, I usually prefer them to the 'proper' recordings, they're a bit rawer with a more prominent bass
  15. I think what makes a big difference (for me anyway) is when you're practising you're in a room with a limited number of people who you know have no symptoms, whereas in any public place who knows who you're interacting with edit, but at the end of the day it's what your own attitude to risk is
  16. In the end I sent it by parcelforce (as cheap as anyone) via Parcels2Go because it agave the option to drop it off at the local Post Office, an option which wasn't offered by P4G, you had to take it to one of their main depots. Didn't bother with insurance apart from 74p to guarantee delivery in 3 days, (parcelforce 48), figuring that would at least guarantee it against get lost Thankfully it arrived safe and sound in 2 days to a delighted buyer
  17. depends of attitude to risk, our rehearsal room is big enough to easily stay 2 metres apart, and it's people I know, I take the view that the risk is minimal, a lot safer than shopping in Tesco
  18. chatting the the landlord of my local yesterday, (it shows Sky sports) I said "opening up on July 4th then? he said "might wait till the 6th, Derby and Forest are playing on the 4th, not fair on the staff having to manage people while they're watching that"
  19. no gigs anytime soon, no surprises there. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8454781/Coronavirus-revolution-Governments-issued-post-lockdown-rules.html
  20. where is it and what does it do?
  21. Introductory stage at Skegness Butlins, big crowd, the band were well up for it, good sound, some of it got filmed really well, and we won the day against two better known bands
  22. we've got one this Wednesday, big room, well away from each other, I suppose it's not strictly following the current guidelines, but a damned sight safer than public transport or going shopping and we're all allowed to got to work, just because we enjoy it doesn't make it not work, we get paid for gigs
  23. you may be on to something, I recently had to change my paypal account to business to receive payments from bandcamp
  24. no, never any option to give feedback, tbh it makes sense when a business has thousands of positive feedbacks, it's becomes more about the product than the businesses operating procedures
  25. no, this is stuff I'be just bought, but it is all from businesses as opposed to private sellers
