  1. one thing I only discovered recently was to clean the tip with a wet sponge regularly, sounds odd but it works,
  2. you can see the fan at the back, either that or the cooling fins, most of the series 6's seem to be 200 watts, but with Trace Elliot you never know,
  3. I've got one of these, series 6, but where your's says model number mine got 200 watts written in it, or so it says, it's bloody loud I know that, fine amps as are all the Trace models, I've also got an SMX and the writing on the back of that is nearly ineligible, depends what pen they used at the time 😊. The weight might be a clue to wattage, mines a fairly manageable 13Kg and hasn't got a fan, but the higher wattage ones were a lot heavier with a fan,
  4. live streaming doesn't really work for me either, I'd rather just watch a video of an actual gig, we did a video for an online festival yesterday, me and the singer did 3 acoustic songs each, but by far the best bit was the whole band playing from a gig that had been filmed
  5. I tried it with a receiver/transmitter I got off ebay, with the idea of using it with in ears, no chance. https://www.reviewgeek.com/38434/why-do-bluetooth-headphones-lag-while-watching-video-or-gaming/#:~:text=In the end%2C Bluetooth headphones, while using true wireless earbuds. edit, still it only cost a few quid and it's good transmitting music from my phone to an amp
  6. I would imagine the latency when using Bloothtooth headphones would them unusable
  7. if I'm understanding you correctly you've got a latency issue, you can adjust it in preferences - devices, it's touched on in this thread or google it, there's a full explanation there
  8. Bill Wyman anybody?
  9. having listened to some of the live Pistols on the infamous USA tour he wasn't as bad as was made out, I suspect he was a victim of McLaren's "they can't play" publicity stunt
  10. MFN? (middle of fcuking nowhere) yes play there at least twice a year, coronavirus permitting,, can't help liking him even when he doesn't pay us 😉
  11. I believe Showaddywaddy had two originally because two Leicester bands combined, when they parted company with Malcolm (the Duke) Allured they managed well enough with one. Seen two versions of the Glitter band twice in the last 10 years, one with one drummer the other with two, both brilliant gigs, they did all the Gary Glitter hits
  12. the band I play in have uploaded some covers, sometimes they get deleted other times not, depends how bothered the artist/songwriter of the original is I suppose, if you get too many complaints they suspend your account, or so I've been told, you get some sort of warning on your account when a song gets removed, sorry can't remember what or how you find it
  13. there's a reason double basses are so big, to get enough volume
  14. nothing by Stevie Wonder, not that I'd say he's $h1te, just not my cup of tea
  15. We've got 3 of them 😂
  16. trouble is a band has years to come up with the debut, or successful album then it's a case of "where's the next one' they're either rushed or an inferior copy of the first one, the Ramones aside very few bands can pull that off, the Stranglers for instance recorded enough tracks for nearly 2 albums, released the best tracks on the first one added a couple of good ones to the second and released No More Heroes
  17. the quality of inexpensive instruments has gone through the roof because of the advent of CNC lathes, program the lathe and away you go, takes the pesky human element out of it, so you're fairly safe buying second hand unless someone has 'reliced' it.
  18. I'm also cack handed, the chances of me finding a shop that stocks what I want is nearly zero, plus it's very difficult to come to a decision by having a 30 minute noodle in a shop through a strange amp, I nearly always listen to what others are saying, usually on here, then try and find one second hand, that way if I decide it's not for me I can sell it in without losing too much money
  19. yeah we've had that one as well, really gypsy's kisses the band off edit, Gypsy's instead of p i s s e s?
  20. we play a gig twice a year where an old woman comes in about half way through the first set and asks for Sex on Fire, we just tell her she's missed it and get here at the start next time, she never does, it's got to be a standing joke now.
  21. always worth remembering that some people are naturally better at some things than others, I always struggle but our guitarist just listens to the CD at normal speed and can pick things up, he can't write songs though,
  22. I had a fender Rumble 500 combo, very lightweight, but had ceramic speakers
  23. as with anything, supply and demand, if folk'll pay it they'll charge it, new innovations always cost more to start with, while manufacturers are testing the water, when they're left with stock or supply out strips demand, the prices will tumble
  24. UK Subs - Born a Rocker, Die a Rocker Hawkwind - Time We Left This World Today and cremations only, Hawkwind again - Disappear In Smoke
