  1. maybe, in which he'll relist it with a BIN
  2. I'll let you know, if it doesn't it's a strange bass to try a scam on (left handed Shine Ric copy), more like there's something wrong with it and he's only got a feedback score of 2, so he's probably been kicked off ebay before
  3. already replied, sorry, not happy with this, I lose ebay buyer protection, if you want to relist it with a buy it now price of £200 I'l rebid on it, I think it's £1 selling fees at the moment, if you don't want to do this, we can just forget about it, no problem. no reply yet
  4. just bid on a bass on ebay, bit strange he said first to bid will win, not buy it now, anyway I bid and now he's cancelled the sale and asked me to pay via paypal, sounds risky to me
  5. certainly, mids covers a big area, I would say around 100 to 400Hz, but don't cut the others either, the smiley EQ face is not good
  6. @Skybone just beat me too it, take the very bottom end off and boost the mids, or in my case (Trace Elliot with a P) leave then flat, it may sound a bit 'boxy' on your own but fills the sound out in a band setting, I also use a Zoom B1on with the Sansamp bass driver patch
  7. I don't like rap, I like a melody, but then I'm over 60, my Dad didn't like Jimi Hendrix, couldn't understand that at the time, but I can now
  8. sorry but if you don't do look a like you're a Bowie covers band, using an actual Bowie picture instead of one of the band on the poster is a bit naughty, just my opinion.
  9. Only bass players will notice anyway, when I ask my partner about how my bass sounds she says "It's a bass they all sound the same" 😂 and in a full band situation I can sort of see her point
  10. I had a 3 band Stingray, I found the only way to get the P sound is with a P, so I sold the Ray and bought a P, never regretted it, but each to their own
  11. I'm the eldest by 10 years (over 60 is all I'm admitting too), our drummer is 30, and our dep guitarist 17! the important thing is we're all into the same sort of music (punk), so no it's not vital but you've all got to be liking the same genre, and your audience has as well
  12. could be the output transistors (mosfets) not cheap, cost me £130
  13. well I for one fully understand their behaviour, they wanted to give their mate and band supporter a chance, @solo4652 must have made it look so easy at the audition that Carl thought " I can do that" of course it's never as easy as it looks when somebody who knows what they're doing is doing it, they realised their mistake and tried to rectify it. I also understand why @solo4652 turned it down what with the spectre of Carl hanging over the proceedings
  14. right 22Kg is heavy, the lower wattage ones without the fan are a lot lighter and being Trace Elliot, there's no problem with them not being loud enough 😀
  15. how heavy was it? I've got a AH250 and it's 13Kg, which I don't consider heavy
  16. yep, I use a Trace head and 2 Rumble V2 cabs, all about 13Kg
  17. I use a Zoom B1 on for my overdrive/distortion needs, does me for everything from mild overdrive, which I use all the time though to Lemmy style distortion, bit fiddly till you get used to it
  18. as others have said, no point in falling out unnecessarily you never know when it might come back to bite you
  19. saw them last year at Butlins 😲 for me the best band of the weekend, did all the punky stuff, well it it was a punk weekend, brilliant sound, but the two original members are getting on a bit now so a full tour must take its toll, doesn't say they're giving up gigging altogether, just no full blown touring. Along with a few others on here, JJ was one of the reasons I started playing bass, when the bass kicks in on Hanging Around still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end
  20. this is so true, we're also impressed by other Bass player's sound and gear we haven't got
  21. seems most are of the same mind, if I enjoy a song and think it'll work live I'll try and play it, if I don't I've no interest in learning it, I can't even motivate myself to learn to play with my fingers because the stuff I like, is played, or can be played, with a pick, no interest in funk, slap or anything remotely related to Jazz, I wouldn't listen to it and certainly don't want to play it. I suppose if it was my living I'd have to, but then it wouldn't be fun, would it?
  22. I used to spend half my life tuning up a cheap guitar, by the time I'd got to the high E the bottom E was out of tune again, electronic tuners are marvellous things. I do get exasperated at open mics when the 'performer' decides to do a song in drop tuning, then spends 5 minutes tuning up by ear, Mr and Mrs Silly Billy
  23. I've heard 2 other bands where the bass is using a Rumble 500 recently and they've both sounded great, perhaps I shouldn't have sold mine ☹️
  24. I've found, on those quid ones from reverb, that if you pluck the string too hard they don't work on the E string, but gently pluck it and it's fine
  25. I had a ABM 500 EVO III and was disappointed by the volume, I had it all the way up with the gain on full and it was only just as loud as my 200 watt Trace Elliot on '2' with the gain on 10, @Lozz196 did mention that the 600 was a lot louder when I queried this on another thread
