Was just to post about these, surely anyone about to spend that much on a bass knows how to google a brand name.

I can't comment on them 2 particular models, as I only have a Harley Benton MB-4 But I can say they're great build quality, especially at the price point. Mine had smooth fret ends and only needed a minor set-up to get going, tuners were a bit stiff but they hold the tuning really well.

If anything I'm more interested in trying some out. Great news.

To each their own but IMO they're a bit naff and 90% of the time they're charging you more for it purely because of the artist. Take Flea's jazz bass. Brand new they're £900-£1000 for a MIM jazz. On the other hand Adam Getgood's signature Dingwall range was really well priced and it helped Dingwall to become more popular. (I even had one for a short while and it was a dream to play) I'd buy one if I got a real good deal on it I suppose, I prefer to buy budget instruments and change some things around and make it my own, rather than buying a signature series.

I never really saw the appeal of a relic bass myself until I found a brand new Vintage V4 Icon for a steal at £200 so I nabbed it. The relic-ed parts on the neck and fittings were really authentic looking but the body was terrible, looks much better after I took to it with a scalpel and some sandpaper though. Would I buy one again? ... Meh? (picture on the stand is before I made it better... or worse depending on your view)

The only new stuff I see is the finishes and the active electronics. Both of which don't do a lot for me in particular. Apart from maybe that green one.. This seems like a range they "have" to put out to stay in the limelight. Meh overall.

Yeah same the strings it came with sound surprisingly good. Apart from the action which I had to adjust, everything else was set up well, truss rod and intonation are really good.

I have the 4 string version of this. Insane quality for the price, I prefer passive pickups so this was a no brainer for me. How's the low B on the 5string?

I'm after a 35" scale 5 string, and this looks really nice. Torn between this and the Marcus Miller M2

Yeah it was alright. Flea and Chad still know how to hold it together, Anthony seems to be losing it lately, he needs a break imo And Josh just seemed to be in his own world lmao, he's much better on the songs he's actually written (or helped write)

Yeah, the guitarist had an 8 string that he tuned E B E A D G B E I played around with a Kalium string that was as thick as a pencil but saying it sounded "muddy" was a hell of an understatement. So I recorded the songs and used the normal E on my five string as the low note, think he pitched corrected it down an octave, its barely even distinguishable on the recording though.

My old metal band used to play in drop Ab.. which wasn't too bad but the B string was floppy as hell Two of the songs were in drop E, then were funny with me when I just played in standard tuning lmao
