  1. Compares very favourably with Limelight.
  2. ^^^^^^this
  3. You are………as a member of the forum. If you want to advertise gear for sale on the forum etc, then a small annual subscription will allow you to do that, and………will allow you to ask feedback from within the community on "Wotzit werth?!!" Asking questions directly on the forum about the value of specific (i.e. your) gear will likely get a response from the moderators
  4. I agree that Fender actually made a pretty good line of basses with the Dimension, but the purists just wouldn’t recognise an attempt at change within the big “F”. Here’s one of mine:
  5. Overated: many heavy boutique basses Underated: Several modern CNC mass-produced instruments
  6. And, if it is a secondhand item the value placed on it at point of entry (destination) may not always be what you paid for it………especially if the local Customs believe that it has been undervalued in order to reduce import charges.
  7. You might want the side marker dots to be reflective (e.g. Luminlay). This will help you on dark stages when eye-balling the markers can get tricky. As you progress your ears will be the only markers that you rely on.
  8. You may laugh, but Harley Benton flats may be worth a punt if you are experimenting. Price/performance is pretty good. I was surprised after having tried a whole bunch of name-brand flats. However, my favourites on a P bass are GHS Precision Flats.
  9. Bernie Goodfellow uses Bow Finishes………not far from you. https://www.bowfinishing.co.uk/
  10. At least they’ll be level-headed and well grounded 😎
  11. Living in Belgium, I’d certainly be interested in exploring bargains of the sort described. My experience over the years has seen me make purchases in many other EU countries that are often more price competitive than Belgium. Grateful for a PM if you don’t wish to reveal details more broadly.
  12. I tend to agree that it could be the bridge wire. A quick check with a multimeter to check continuity throughout the control cavity will help isolate where the problem (and fix) lies.
  13. I had to read the op title more than once, since - at first - I thought it might be referring to putting on my socks each morning! Failed at that a few times when my back is out!
  14. I thought I’d made it when I was 18 and was offered a contract with a shipping line to play as part of a dance band touring the mediterranean. Did that for 3 months. Got back and realised I should get a proper education. It was never on really!
  15. Just what you see in my profile pic!…………but always on the look out. I really rate these beauties. I wish that I was on your side of the channel, otherwise I’d be struggling more than I am from this side. GLWTS, Jamie
  16. Great bass. Great seller! Great price!
  17. I’m a closet perfectionist and this trait “comes out to play” in many situations and also in bands. Some guys have an understandable “80% will do attitude”. I have struggled in the past with that and need to use all my coping skills to just let some things go and enjoy what - for me - is a hobby! Still working on taming it - as a perfectionist always tries to.
  18. Way to go! Been there, seen it, done it, and bought the tee shirt! Totally understand.
  19. The tuners on the PB70US are essentially the same as those on a US P bass. The non-export Japanese PB70 has tuners with a smaller footprint. Another difference is the pickups, but that is not a difference that would be easy to tell without a closer inspection. As others have said, you can’t really go wrong with a MIJ or CIJ instrument.
  20. Yep….I do the same. I have - among others - a set from Alpine where you can insert different coloured filters to achieve the desired degree of attenuation. IIRC, they can reduce 10, 15 and 20 db. I’ve tried loads……but you only get one set of ears!
  21. Try and surface the problems openly and quickly, otherwise things just fester. Compromise is often possible if the real issue(s) is understood. Sometimes though folks just don’t see that it’s worth it and walk. Sadly, I’ve experienced a few band line up changes and they were all disruptive to some extent.
  22. A 2nd hand Lakland 55-02 might get you where you want to be. One of the nicest necks around and an outstanding B string.
  23. I’m a paid up member of that club!
  24. Phew! Rescued! That’s boat anchor territory for my back.
