  1. Great to hear you are back in the saddle. Go for it!!
  2. This ^^^^^ I also like TI flats once you get used to the tension (lack of it).
  3. Didn’t Fender make a 24 fret Jazz V a while back……..made in Korea? I have no idea what it was like, but I seem to recall it was a Fender-badged Cort. So, cheap, OK and a potential for upgrades?
  4. I think of all my fretless basses, those with ebony fingerboards give me the greatest playing satisfaction. I did have a Hohner “cricket bass” once with an unlined ebanol fingerboard. Actually, with nylon-coated tapewounds on it sounded quite OK. I was surprised. If I had a choice I would always go with ebony though.
  5. Not for me……… but each to their own.
  6. Frankly, I think these are all niche “one-person” type operations. Not sure that’s entirely true for Nash, but I’d think FCS don’t have any worries on that score.
  7. This ^^^^^^^^ I’d personally rate Bravewood>> Nash>> Limelight. I’ve had examples of each…………and I’m not even a relic lover!
  8. Loving it! What’s not to like?! Good score.
  9. I had the same thing happen to me with a bridge and vol/tone control grub screws. I think Mark has changed his process for producing relic’d hardware. So no longer an issue if you buy “new” from him. Pot-luck if a “second hand” Limelight though. Overall, I find Limelight instruments a good balance between price/quality.
  10. You might have more interest in your post if it were placed in the “Wanted” section. Mods: suggest this post be transferred.
  11. I have adjusted the dual truss rods on Rickenbackers a few times. Unless the neck is twisted, I have tried always to do the same to each rod and gently turn each in sequence. With Ricks I normally try for a flat board with minimum relief, per factory recommendation. Not always possible though. Sounds like you may have to look at the frets, as you indicate.
  12. I think Macca uses felt picks rather than plastic, but he seems pretty good at it😁
  13. I liked my first M245 Custom so much, I’ve some how accumulated a few more Atelier Z’s. Gratuitous pic time:
  14. Fabulous………and a great back story! Enjoy!
  15. For me, it is like the “rubbing your tummy and patting your head trick”. It is tricky and I have a similar approach to @Lozz196. I simplify the bass line and concentrate on the vocals. I just about get away with backings and really admire those who can front lead vocal and play.
  16. Go for it! Top draw quality instruments.
  17. The Dimension is a recent example. Nice bass, but Fender fan-boys just didn’t see beyond the P or J looking glass!
  18. A tech may indeed have done that and not tested thoroughly, or just thought, sod it! Sounds plausible.
  19. …….and I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate!
