  1. An old classic korg triton le. I'm replacing a digital piano with this. As a piano it's clearly a downgrade but to be honest, being limited to piano has meant I've slowly lost interest and so I thought a wee keyboard with various sounds might get me playing a bit more! First impressions.. nicely built. Sounds great although the pianos are a bit naff. Lots of assignable knobs. Hopefully midi works fine so I can use it as a controller.
  2. dep gig. without looking it up, i have no idea where it is. its a good band though.
  3. This is an excellent feature. My ms60b probably suits my needs more than my stomp set up does, but having to use the same amp sim signal to foh and to a backline was a limitation. This fixes that! I have a feeling this will be one of those "Friday night after half a bottle of red wine" online purchases over the next few weeks!
  4. I own this very bass and in this exact finish and I've never once noticed that straight cut. Il never unsee that!
  5. If you are planning on using the ms60b for this specific purpose, then i'd recommend downloading the zoom effects manager. It basically allows you to upload any of the zoom effects to the unit, not just the bass effects. you can load it up with all the EQs and pre's that zoom offer and see what ones work best. Just remove the flanges and delays etc that you wont use. Some of the non-bass EQ's might work better for you. Although could an 8th turn of the tone knob on the bass tame the harsh end? I'm guilty of thinking a pedal is needed when actually a tweak on the bass can make a change!
  6. Incredibly tight and a superb sound but extremely repetitive.
  7. I've got a broken 10" combo with a good cover which I'm hoping to convert into a passive cab. That should be easy enough so to accompany it I fancy a wee micro head. Maybe npt even a bass head and purely for home volumes.
  8. I've played 4s probably 80% of the time, 10% 6s and 10% 5s. There's a time and a place for all but in all honesty I think 4s are just more fun to play! And I rarely if ever feel I'm missing out on not having the extra strings.
  9. I've tried alot of synth pedals over the years and the best is the source audio c4, in my opinion. Can't say it will do that particular sound but I'm sure it will. To be honest though, in my experiemce most pedals are a glitchy mess unless you're being very particular with what notes you play and how you play them. I'm a reasonably clean player and I've never really been comfortable with any of the pedals ive had in a live setting for this very reason!
  10. I agree. I'd just get a footswitch. No power required and would do everything your tuner would do. this is mine. It's a footswitch built by a mate, but any old footswitch would do the job. Not sure if what you want to do is possible but the stomp has quite a specific connector which might make it more complicated/expensive if it is possible.
  11. Can't say I've ever seen a pub band with a drum screen. It might do the job but in all honesty, I'd be loathed to carry about an extra bit if kit purely because the drummer chooses to play loud. The easy answer is he needs to stop hitting hard. Hitting hard diesnt make him "rock" harder. If he's as good as you say then he needs to moderate his sound as its clearly having a direct negative impact on the overall sound. It boggles my brain how certain musicians have this opinion. If you ever have punters point this out, make sure he's in ear range.
  12. Alexis Sklarevski the slap bass program vhs. Showed me how to slap when I was 14. Still probably at the same level 28 years later!
  13. Dirt before, chorus delays reverb after. Generally speaking. Live use would be different as most pre amp pedals double up as your DI so it will sit at the end of the chain. When I've only got one comp I'd stick it first in the chain. Just enough to even out the output from the bass. As others have said.. there's no right or wrong. If it sounds good it's good. If it sounds bad it's bad.
  14. I'm sure it has its uses, but yikes, that is incredibly glitchy. Too glitchy to be used as a bass octaver IMO! Looks cool though!
  15. Not seen this live but Jon bon Jovi's recent attempts at singing is quite depressing!
  16. Decent wee cover! 👌
  17. external is roughly 30cmx20cmx9cm. Its not for the same printer therefore not exactly ther same, but this is something very similiar: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Carrying-Storage-Portable-Printer-co2CREA/dp/B07FPB1X1W/ref=asc_df_B07FPB1X1W/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696285193871&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17738099809167818398&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046913&hvtargid=pla-2281435178578&mcid=18bc5fea04ac3bf4a0937c878f9bdebe&hvocijid=17738099809167818398-B07FPB1X1W-&hvexpln=74&gad_source=1&th=1
  18. The board is a bit of wooden flooring cut down to size, with some anti slip feet stuck to the bottom and the velcro used to attach the pedals! The case is a portable printer case found in amazon after days of searching! There's so many cases out there for other things than can be repurposed! This one's discontinued it seams. I waa very specific on the dimensions as this fits perfectly into the pouch of my Protection Racket bass case.
  19. Thought I'd post this here too since i photo'd it for a different thread on basschat this evening! Can't mind if I've posted it before.
  20. This will almost certainly sound very good. But, if you're used to the control you get on things like helix's or cortex's or even the zoom stuff, you'll probably be quite frustrated. But at that price, it will sell by the gazzilion and youtubers will make it sound tremendous.
  21. I put a light comp at the start of my chain and a light one at the end, within my HX stomp. Feels pretty nice whilst taming everything in between!
  22. this is it.
  23. Hx stomp. Currently I use it with a passive DI box straight into FOH, however I'm probably going to start just using a jack to XLR cable. the DI box is really not required. I currently have it on a micro board with a 2 pedal footswitch which to be honest is abit overkill for my use on bass. I tend to stick to one patch. nice clean amp sim, switch 1 octaver, switch 2 filter, switch 3 scooped EQ for slapping. On the footswitch, one is tuner, the other changes to whatever i feel like. It doubles up as my home guitar rig, so its pretty much a no brainer. all is velcroed onto a small board, that slides into the front pouchg of my bass case. can't really beat it.
  24. Most of my gigs currently I drive to so firing another bass in the boot makes very little difference to me so I do it. Especially wedding/function gigs. If space or travel is an issue then I'm comfortable taking one bass but i do take doubles for evertyhing else, so if any other part of my signal breaks, I've got options. Including strap... I've had a strap fail. Back in the day though I played some pretty big gigs with one bass (and probably no spare strings), with zero issues. The spare sits in its case though, I dont set it up on a stand on stage. If something goes wrong, I'm pretty comfortable that I could get the bass out and ready to play by the start of the next tune!
