Thought I'd post this here too since i photo'd it for a different thread on basschat this evening! Can't mind if I've posted it before.

This will almost certainly sound very good. But, if you're used to the control you get on things like helix's or cortex's or even the zoom stuff, you'll probably be quite frustrated. But at that price, it will sell by the gazzilion and youtubers will make it sound tremendous.

I put a light comp at the start of my chain and a light one at the end, within my HX stomp. Feels pretty nice whilst taming everything in between!

this is it.

Hx stomp. Currently I use it with a passive DI box straight into FOH, however I'm probably going to start just using a jack to XLR cable. the DI box is really not required. I currently have it on a micro board with a 2 pedal footswitch which to be honest is abit overkill for my use on bass. I tend to stick to one patch. nice clean amp sim, switch 1 octaver, switch 2 filter, switch 3 scooped EQ for slapping. On the footswitch, one is tuner, the other changes to whatever i feel like. It doubles up as my home guitar rig, so its pretty much a no brainer. all is velcroed onto a small board, that slides into the front pouchg of my bass case. can't really beat it.

For a bit of fun? -
Most of my gigs currently I drive to so firing another bass in the boot makes very little difference to me so I do it. Especially wedding/function gigs. If space or travel is an issue then I'm comfortable taking one bass but i do take doubles for evertyhing else, so if any other part of my signal breaks, I've got options. Including strap... I've had a strap fail. Back in the day though I played some pretty big gigs with one bass (and probably no spare strings), with zero issues. The spare sits in its case though, I dont set it up on a stand on stage. If something goes wrong, I'm pretty comfortable that I could get the bass out and ready to play by the start of the next tune!

Nothing too fancy. #1 yamaha bbg4s - first decent bass I got as a Christmas pressie when I was 15. Modded it then sold it but I did end up buying another one in the same colour a few years ago for a bit of nostalgia #2 fender aerodyne jazz in candy apple Red. Bought the mid 20s and played it for 12 years almost entirely exclusively. I uses this during my best "originals" period of my life appearing on almost all my bands recordings. Sold it which i do regret. #3 yamaha bb734... bought this a few years ago and love it. Hopefully I have no reason to change and it is my automatic go to for everything. I've had many many other basses but I think these are the ones that will always come to mind when I think back!

As Sam says, HX stomp can do it, including frequency split. I dont have experience of the latest budget versions of multi FX but the previous generations wont do what you want as far as i know. Even the HX stomp is limited to the split as theres only 8 fx blocks and limited dsp, depending on what you want to do. I think stomps go for 300-350 second hand. I'm sure others will chime in saying how great signal splitting is, but from my experience it's really not worth the time, effort and additional complication unless you already have effects you want to use that don't translate well to bass straight through. If you';ve not already got the pedals then get the stomp, or dont bother IMO! multi band compressors and blendable FX will do a grand job, and I'm sure the new cheapo multifx will have all that kind of stuff built in and probably sound great

Have you ever paid to play a gig?

Weird. Invoice could've been paid in cash surely. Write up the invoice. Keep the cash. Move on. -
If i was doing my PC set up again, I'd get another one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255349193203?chn=ps&_ul=GB&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-166974-033325-9&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=255349193203&targetid=2315464899086&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9191485&poi=&campaignid=20577890846&mkgroupid=165388023833&rlsatarget=pla-2315464899086&abcId=9322158&merchantid=113745596&geoid=9191485&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwi5q3BhCiARIsAJCfuZkw7zgZWtO0o0M1Ih-0fcB-f-60K5twDhkebvt9JLqn315KTi3vTr0aAssfEALw_wcB I've got one in my living room and its lovely and has multiple inputs including bluetooth so it can be used multiple ways. Connect it up by USB to get use of the DAC and It also gives you hands on EQ to tweak to the room and/or the tune. Pretty certain these get heavy discounts from time to time too. I'd then pair it up with some 2nd hand passive hifi speaker, which can be had for less than £50 easily if you look about. Ok, theres more cabling involved, but for me, this would sound infitely better with much more uses than just getting a couple of active speakers - I've got the mackie CR3s currently which are in your budget and they just sound so lifeless. In fact, I might look into upgrading after writing this!

Looks wonderful! Always love to see a bass getting some life brought back into it!

Dead easy. Although dependent on what you want from it, you might struggle with DSP. For example i dont beleive you can have two 2048 IRs simultaneously. you can have 2 1024 IRs though. As others pointed out, theres no XLR outputs but the jack outs are balanced/unbalanced so you can just get the relevant cable adapter, or what I do, just have a DI box to hand. I used to think the lack of XLR outs on multieffects was a deal breaker, it really isnt. Don't get me wrong, the full size Helix's are pretty immense, but they are pretty big and actuallyt quite heavy.. the stomp literally fits in the front pouch of my case and will do everything you want, as long as your realistic with your ambitions!

My band use hx pedals for guitar and bass so we juat split at that stage. We then use 3 of these.. rackmounted. In hindsight probably should've went for the behringer thing as above but things weren't originally rqckmiunted so these made sense. They are awesome though and probably would be handy to have around anyway!

Bands you love but dislike one or two of their songs a lot
Elfrasho replied to JottoSW1's topic in General Discussion
Extreme. Pormograffiti is almost a perfect album other than the wee Shitey midi file sounding piano ballad fired right in the middle of it. Utter guff! -
My band put ona 250 capacity show in May. We sold 4 tees at the event. I know design, colour, size availability etc could factor into how many you sell, but for me it was more hassle than it was worth!

Errr is this possible? Switch to headphones on a pedal
Elfrasho replied to Minininjarob's topic in General Discussion
Can't tell if this would mute the headphones when going through the outputs and vice versa, but if it does then this is exactly what the OP needs! I would imagine the headphone output is just always on though, but i might be wrong. If you can live with the headphone signal being on all the time though, this is probably quite a neat solution! Not sure how you're currently powering a set of headphones from your pedal board, but if you aren't yet, then as others have said, AB pedal plus a headphone amp (such as the P1) would do the exact job you need. -
This. live tracking on a budget is more hassle than its worth ive found. You're on a budget so download Amplitube. The starter pack is free, and i think they randomly give away free packs here and there, you'll have a great sounding guitar and bass with zero outlay. And the extra packs arent that much, just buy what you think you'll utilise. If you've got guitar and bass sounds you want to use externally, you can plug your set up into the Audio interface and then use amplitube purely for the cab sims and room sounds. So many options for the guitars and bass these days! and easily done for free I might be wrong but dont death metal vocalists tend to use dynamic mics for recording? If so, just get an sm58, and you can use that live when you get to that stage - some folk dont mind but if you need to get up close and personal with a mic, you might not want to be sharing a mic with 3000 other folk! Interface-wise; honestly anything is quite amazing these days. I use a roland Rubix22 and you can get them 2nd hand for £50 and it sounds and works brilliantly. I've used it for remote recording sessions into professional studios and I've had multiple comments saying that the audio I'm providing is excellent, so one of those would do you nicely. Drums: for free midi drums, I've tried all the free things and I think the best one is the Steve Slate drums. dead easy to use, and lots of control- only limited to the actual drum samples that you get which might not suit death metal.

Bass --> FoH with no backline. What preamp pedal are you using?
Elfrasho replied to Al Krow's topic in PA set up and use
I use an HX stomp but if it broke, genuinely I'd go back to my zoom ms60b. I used the zoom a few months ago as my guitarist borrowed the stomp, i was perfectly happy with the sound. I've always loved the zoom stuff, maybe not so much for the dirty sounds, but for a basic clean preamp, through a pa, noones going to think your sound is poor. Saying that, whats the fun in that! Get an hx stomp! -
I've got a carvin bass combo. loved it and was the ideal size and weight for the occasional stage monitoring i required. Unfortunately it died.
-
Must admit I don't know his solo stuff that well so I wasn't massively bothered, but aye, it just sounded like his solo boost wasn't on! Or, the 2nd guitarist was up too loud.
