  1. The impressive thing is I did it myself. With crayon.
  2. I think their bracing gives the strength - I reckon if you can pick up the amp, the cab will hold it no probs.
  3. Excuse the ones to the left, and the fact they are just in front of (as opposed to on) the sofa, but here are my solid 3 - JV Squire, bitsa, and the Jack.
  4. I did question myself on the spelling, but threw caution to the wind and posted regardless, as no one can see my face. Happy to be corrected!
  5. What is the family tree on these? Is a Sterling like a Mex Fender? Then Sub like Indonesian?
  6. I used one in a gig last weekend, but I’m not sure if it was an mk1 or 2. Bloody loud though! Turned up to 3 and I was comfortably competing with 2 guitars and drums doing G’n’R covers!
  7. I wish all adverts were a bit more like that!
  8. Can anyone suggest a good set of strings for this bass? My usual preference is D’Addario chrome flats 40/60/80/100, but I can’t see that they make double ball end versions. Not adverse to rounds, just prefer flats. Also thinking of upgrading the preamp, or going passive. I’m venturing in to new territory there, so advice gratefully received! Thanks in advance!

  10. Played through one of these last night with an Orange 4x10 - bloody marvellous! Volume was on 3 against a drummist and two Marshall 2x12’s. GLWTS!
  11. The look of those basses match the look of their amps & cabs perfectly! 🤢🤮🤮🤮
  12. What about putting the Wharfedale badge in the top left corner? Or am I over-thinking this?!
  13. Sooo, this stalled! I’ve put together a bitsa and bought a headless Hohner Jack since starting this thread, so simultaneously scratched a new bass itch and reached a reasonable limit of new basses (according to Mrs Turgh). However, all is not lost - I still have those parts, so I’ll have to build it at some point! But it will have to wait until after I do a slightly bigger build - my garden studio! Once that’s done, I feel the new bass embargo will be unenforceable. Mww hah hah hah!!!!
  14. Another skateboard build...
  15. Excellent! Those screws will pull out eventually though! Have you seen the ones made out of old skateboards? Just as colourful but probably harder wearing.

Sold Kev my bass cab recently - all good with payment and communications - top bloke! Cheers!
  17. Hello, Geoff bought a bass from me recently - good comms, understanding of delays due to the festive period - all in all a smooth transaction. Cheers!
  18. Hello. I’m planning on building a recording/rehearsal room in my garden. I’m going to use a trusted studio designer for the final leg, but it in preparation I want to sound out my inevitable constraints with the local planning office, so I want to doo some basic planning for some pre-application advice. Can anyone recommend some free planning-type software please?
