1994 ish, so I was 15. Got given a wrecked Kay P-bass, got it sorted out at a guitar shop, then bought a crackly Carlsbro Scorpion 30w combo. Neither are with us any more! Here’s some internut piccies. Don’t be fooled - that bass looked cool from a distance but it weighed silly amounts and the neck was some weird ply crap!

Ha! Nah, I’ve heard some great cajons. My kit is just poop though. I will mod it (when I get the time!), or maybe just go to a shop (if they still exist after Halloween) and get one that sounds right to start with!

That is a very clean looking instrument. Subtle. I love it!

Hello, I’ve not used it out of the house yet. The sound isn’t there to start with, so micing won’t improve the situation! I’ll probably take it to a drum shop to see what they suggest.

I have three and was thinking of selling one. Clearly I should just be buying six instead.

The name alone puts me off - just sounds like a drunk lazy person saying Gary Glitter.

And if they don’t do it in the colour you want, perhaps you could paint it black?

I used to get nervous, but then I did a run of gigs one summer with a singist who would just add to the set list willy nilly. “Oh, let’s play (insert random song title here), it’s really easy” mid-set! The guitarist was a song encyclopaedia, so we’d count in and I’d try my best not to look like a completely useless tw@t. Hell of a learning curve, but my nerves are no more!

More likely the headphones are reproducing the sound more accurately than the small and not full frequency combo speaker.

That looks all kinds of wrong. Just ugly. Even if it’s genuine, I’d avoid it. Bridge looks too far back, ill-fitting scratch plate and control plate... nah!
