Possibly some FS stuff, details tbc once it hits the paid Marketplace. 3. @wrinkleygit, Jabba’s Semi Hollow Fretless, ‘72 Gibson EB0, SWR Working Mans 10 combo & 1x10 ext cab & a set of h’phones. Both basses strung with Labella flats 4. @scrumpymike Setting aside a bunch of FS stuff to give SW Bashers first shot and minimise packing and shipping work/costs. Unless cash flow dictates earlier sale, this will include: a couple of BF cabs (either SC Gen 3s or Two10s, to be decided); BF One10; Maruszczyk Elwood 30" scale; Spector Bantam if still unsold (already posted FS); Eden WT550 if still unsold (already posted FS); Ampeg PF800. 'Keepers' also on display will be: the other pair of BF cabs; my no. 1 gig bass 'Rascal Mervyn-Lyte; 'Rascal Lyte Mkll - provided I can decide what it's going to be in time for AndyJr to build it; my no 1 gig amp (Subway 800+); my old no 1 gig amp (Genzler Magellan 800). All of which will hopefully bring forward the day when Mrs Scrumpy can finally join her old man in retirement 😁 5. @Pea Turgh My Frankenstein Jazzguarman(!) strung with D’Addario XL Chrome flats. My black bitsa (same strings). Progress has once again slowed due to family stuff, but I have now stripped the white paint from the neck. Standard P-type ferrules hold the Grover tuners nicely, so on to the finish. I love the colour of a roasted maple neck, but it won’t fit in my oven, so I’m after suggestions for finishes that will give that tint. Ozmo seems to be mentioned quite a lot on here - does that play nicely with nitro? I’m going to try to match the headstock to the body colour, see.

I’m not complaining - it’s the nature of the beast. I’m just a sensitive flower 😂 Another idea - as well as stating what basses we’re bringing, what about also stating string type fitted - an easier (and cheaper) way to discover if there are better strings out there to match your fingers?!

Ola. I bought a little Focusrite mic interface thingy for an iPhone from Andy - top bloke! He kept me up to date about postage, item was completely unused still in its wrapper! Now I can make some bass vids with really good sound quality! Thanks Andy!

Agreed on both counts, @Cuzzie! For now I’m getting the fit sorted, finish will be after I know all the bits slot together nicely! The bridge pickup is in now, but the p-position needs further adjustment. I might even end up giving a router a try to make it look clean. Pretty sure I used one in my dad’s workshop once, but that was literally half a lifetime ago! I like the carbon paint method, so I will be getting some soon.

Turns out standard bushings are the correct internal diameter for these Grover machine’s external dimensions, so I should be able to stack them. We’ll see how that theory stacks up when the bushings arrive! I have now expanded the existing pickup routes to accept my cheapie Ricky pickups, using drill bits and a chisel. It’s not the neatest job, but I they will be covered by the new scratch plate and pickup surrounds, so all is well. I had to tack on three little bits of wood to the end side I f the original route to take the pickup surround mounting screws. Again, it ain’t pretty but it does the job.

Nah, I think it’s just an optical illusion - they are that small on a Toby bass I lent out (and hope to get back some day!).

The difference is beyond that here - shafts are 14mm, holes are 18mm!

Ola peeps! Family commitments have stopped progress this week, but I have a chisel waiting for me when I get home, so will crack on this eve! I need some hive mind input - I bought a nice set of tuners from @TheGreek to put on this bass, but I forgot to take in to account the shaft/hole discrepancy. Anyone know where I’d get some adapter ferrules from?

Love that finish! I prefer simple looking basses. They match me then.

If the patch bay goes up top it will be next to other wires poking out of the mixer, so it’s more in keeping I guess! In front you can’t get to wiggle the faders about as easily.
