  1. That looks great - I actually prefer the way it holds everything vs the “official” case.
  2. Out of interest, how would you describe the difference between the J-45s and the Aguilar HCs?
  3. I believe that’s due to the hum cancelling design of the pickups. They’re definitely unique - apparently they will work for both 4 and 5 string basses
  4. Any photos of the back? Along with the flush strap lock?
  5. Ohh this is my kinda bass! So beautiful. I don’t need another high end PJ5…I don’t need another high end PJ5… Demo here of a similar model without the J pickup:
  6. Yeah it’s definitely shimmery all the way through the studio section, regardless of his playing technique. Could be some phasing caused by the camera mic and direct bass input both being left active for that portion of the video in the edit. Oh well…at least the first half of the video was useful
  7. I am rather tempted by this…despite not playing fours!
  8. Is it me or does it sound like he’s switched on a chorus pedal for all of the studio recorded part of the video? First half sounded fine…
  9. Such a great bang-for-buck pedal. The clean octave down synth sound is a particular favourite of mine!
  10. +1. I’ll definitely be getting a Waza Air at some point, but it feels like a kick in the teeth to have to pay an extra £30 for a travel case which should have been included in the initial ~£400 purchase!
  11. Ha! Thank you sir. The bass suggestively presenting itself in the background is almost identical to the one I’m playing, just with different wiring (Vol-Vol-Tone plus frequency switches for mids and highs, and series mode push/pull on the second volume - whereas the one I’m playing is Vol-Blend-Tone without any fancy switching) and I’m playing flats on the gold one but the Background Burgundy Beauty is strung with steel rounds. Edit: and of course I’m playing on the neck pickup!
  12. I almost never record my playing but after putting flats on one of my Xotic 5 string Jazzes I felt compelled. Posted this in a couple of other places but here it is:
  13. A couple of questions… Will the wireless system just be for casual home use or will it be for gigging etc? What’s your budget?
  14. These are great units for beginners or pros alike! Easy to setup, well built and they just work. Top quality gear from a UK company.
  15. Michael League (Snarky Puppy) Nik West Sharay Reed Henrik Linder (Dirty Loops) Ida Nielsen Pino Palladino (especially with D’Angelo) Bubby Lewis Darrell Freeman (AKA “Therealfree” on YouTube/Instagram)
  16. Just stumbled into the lefties for sale forum by mistake and the first thing I see is this gorgeous piece! Got me wishing I was a lefty
  17. That’s what I’m thinking re: ease of analogue synth workflow vs wavetable workflow. The iOS editor looks fantastic too. Was debating getting the module version but given how good the Modal keybeds are that might be a missed opportunity. Could always use the Cobalt keys to trigger other synths.
  18. I’ve been considering the sister synth to this - the Cobalt8. Everything I’ve seen online leads me to think these synths are incredible, especially for the money. How are you getting on with your Argon @Woodinblack?
  19. Flats on a Jazz can be a joyous experience, and switching to the neck pickup on a Jazz strung with flats can be as close to a Precision as makes no difference. I’m a fan.
  20. Still resisting temptation are we @NancyJohnson…?
  21. These are utterly excellent power supplies. Whoever buys this will be very happy.
  22. My new favourite flats! If anyone likes TIs but would prefer *slightly* higher tension and already broken in tone fresh from the packet, these are for you. GLWTS sir!
  23. The switch they use in Combustions/NG3s have the option for neck and bridge pups together, but this sacrifices the middle pup solo option. Both versions of the switch can be purchased separately at Bass Direct so it’s simple enough to go for the one you prefer. I quite like the options the D-Roc switch gives, personally. I’ve had to resist the urge to order one now that the 5ers are available! Pretty convinced I’ll own one at some point.
