In that case, definitely start by changing your strings. Honestly, I’ve found strings can make as much difference as electronics when it comes to affecting tone, but at a much lower cost.

I had a very lengthy and frustrating experience with Selectron UK too a few years ago, getting the preamp on my Double Four repaired. They were often a nightmare to get any clear answers from, and my repair took FOREVER. We’re talking months rather than the - at most - weeks that it should have. The delay was blamed on the fact that they had only very recently taken on the role of service centre for PJB products and my replacement components had to be shipped from the USA. When I first sent the amp off to them, I provided them with my home address for the amp to be returned to once the repair was complete. It took so long that I actually moved house and had to inform them of my new address. Quite some time later when the repair had finally been carried out, they emailed me to say my amp was being shipped back to me…addressed to my old address which I’d explicitly informed them not to use. You couldn’t make it up. Thankfully I responded to their email quickly enough that they were able to amend the shipping label before the courier had actually collected the amp from them. If I hadn’t been quick to reply and it was despatched incorrectly, I wonder how long it would have taken them to acknowledge their folly and ship me a replacement amp…! This was back around 2018 and clearly their quality of service has not improved since.

Schecter have just released a new “Exotic” version of the Model T which looks phenomenal. Not in stock anywhere just yet but it’s a very pretty thing…

Black pearl for me. Love it! Plain black looks great too.

I often forget about the Wanted section - I really must use it more often.

We’ve all been there - It’s certainly happened to me a few times. Now I check the sale forums daily, usually at least a couple of times a day!

Boss Waza Air now available for bass. Personal Amp System.

Can’t help but think Boss have all the components to make a product which would blow something like the Phil Jones BigHead out of the water now. Basically the WAZA Air as a little unit that you could plug your own headphones into. Still with the wireless transmitter but maybe with a standard 1/4” jack socket to plug directly into as a backup. And of course all of the effects, modelling and Bluetooth connectivity, plus an internal rechargeable battery (USB-C of course) in a nice robust yet compact metal form factor. For those who don’t need yet another set of headphones but want everything else the WAZA Air has to offer. -

To be fair it would probably look weirder if they’d tried to keep the metal control plate and extended it to accommodate 5 (or 6 including output jack) holes. But I do think the scratchplate is a slightly odd shape on the NJS basses. They sound good though!

Ohhh, I’ve just realised it’s because you have a “top” wood on the back of the body! That’s why there’s an additional accent carve. Makes sense. It wouldn’t have as much visual impact on a body that didn’t have the sandwich of woods on the back! Either way, congratulations sir. It’s a stunning thing!

It’s the first one I’ve seen with that rear carve x they usually look like this on the back:

That looks utterly phenomenal. I’m currently finalising a Krell build with Alan myself! That extended rear carve is very cool! I’m guessing you specced that as an add-on? Tempted to ask if I can have that done to my Krell too… Also loving the dots being ON the lines. A small detail but very well implemented.
