  1. I think this is a V7 “Vintage” - identifiable by the maple board with black blocks. Maybe worth adding to the title?
  2. I’ve had their nickel rounds and really enjoyed them. Very reasonably priced, good feel, good tone. Zero complaints from me! I’ve been curious to try their flats for a while actually.
  3. My bad. Repeated information
  4. Looks like the instrument input will be on the side rather than end-on, so coming out of the backbeat G2 at a 90 degree angle compared to the layout of G2. Not sure if this is a good move or not as I’ve never used the original Backbeat. Anyone care to chime in on whether they reckon it makes sense or not?
  5. My potential master plan: I intend on buying a Strat and learning some skinny string (heresy I know…) but if I could get the SMS short scale and a Strat in a mono double or similar dual guitar case it could be delightful!
  6. @fretmeister oh I meant a guitar gig bag. Sorry, didn’t think about my wording there!
  7. Based on this, I reckon I quite like the sound of this with the stock pickups! Any word on whether these will fit into a guitar case…? Wondering whether this could be a delightful travel bass.
  8. I’ve been eyeing up the Trace Transit B for a looong time. If I didn’t already have a HX Stomp I’d have bought the Transit by now.
  9. @Bunion, presumably you’ve got a cable from bass to backbeat, then the wireless transmitter from backbeat to headphones?
  10. I hesitate to let friends touch my basses let alone strangers! If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that people have wildly differing standards for how they treat other people’s belongings. Not just music gear either, it applies to everything.

  12. Agreed. I wasn’t expecting to see that at the bottom of the page. I was never a fan of the Wood&Tronics headstocks so the headless certainly alleviates that issue for me! I think the body shape works better without a headstock.
  13. They look like Wood & Tronics basses but with a generous sprinkle of steampunk style. I don’t know if I’d play one, but they look pretty cool!
  14. If only Neutrik locking sockets weren’t so bulky this would be a nice application for them
  15. The mono M80 dual case is more expensive than the Gator Double but it’s significantly less bulky. If you just want a well-protected double case and space/size/weight isn’t an issue then the Gator is a great option for a very reasonable price. If you’ll be carrying the thing then I’d highly recommend the Mono. Photo below for thickness reference: Gator on the left, Mono on the right.
  16. Another vote for the TC Electronic Polytune (or Unitune) clip.
  17. @BassApprentice I already have a 5 string sparkly roadworn purple bass: But I’m considering a 4 string sibling! It’s either a burgundy mist Sire V7 like yours or the Bass Collection Betsy Guy Pratt bass…or just a Fender Flea Jazz for a completely different colour but keeping the roadworn vibe. I know artificial ageing is a controversial topic for some but I must say after buying the above beauty I’m a total convert! The big benefit is that I don’t worry about dinging my bass anymore
  18. @Mister RLP how’s Betsy faring these days? Still loving her?
  19. Any update on this @Mudpup? How’s the Sire Betsy-ish treating you these days?
  20. I dealt with Bright Onion a few years ago for 3 different custom pedal builds and they were so easy to do business with. Top quality products too. I’d recommend them to anyone!
