1. Nice eBay finds there! I've had my eye on Jack's actually, I reckon I'll go to them when I finally decide to get a guard made. Nice selection of colours and finishes on their sample page too which is great.
2. Would this do the trick? http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/JHS-Pedals-Little-Black-Amp-Box/1C69?origin=product-ads&gclid=CIa-856j49ECFe4y0wodIekMTQ I guess all this does is attenuate volume and doesn't change the impedance of the signal but would it suffice?
3. I want to try something but I'm a little too scared to do it until I know it's safe. Basically I'd like to run the line output of my Voicelive Touch 2 (vocal looper & effects unit) through some of the effects on my bass pedalboard. I know that my TC electronic pedals will play nicely with line level but I don't want to fry the insides of my Octamizer. I'd like to try it with my newly acquired Source Audio Aftershock too. How risky is this?

5. Just purchased a Source Audio Aftershock from SiFi and it arrived today! Completely hassle-free transaction and the pedal is in brand new condition. Very happy - highly recommended
6. Good lord. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up from off the floor - this is a beauty.
7. Got my BB1025x delivered today and have been playing it for the last 4 hours straight. Will try and get a proper review done tomorrow but so far I can say this is definitely my new #1 bass! What a dream to play!
8. i guess you mean a panel that sits on the existing one? Wouldn't that affect the knob/ switch clearance?
9. I'm pretty much %100 certain you can scroll through banks of effects as you've described. I've literally sold and posted my B3 today though so I can't walk you through how it's done, apologies! Another B3 owner care to chip in? Edit: T-Bay to the rescue
10. I may just do that when the time comes. Looks like the front of your new version PW8B is semi-similar to my BH800, especially the knob protection bars. Actually the bars are the only real similarity really. Anyhow, I'll probably seek counsel from you when working out how to get the front off without destroying the amp completely. Though for now my main focus is getting a tort pickguard made for my incoming Yamaha BB!
11. I'm surprised you haven't had more interest - lovely looking (and no doubt sounding) bass.
12. A-ha, good to know. Thanks for clearing that up. Looks like the bb2004 will be a completely different beast.
13.
On the topic of hard to resist Yamahas.... £700 for NE model https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/yamaha-bass-nathen-east/1212520950
Ooh that is a looker. Although it looks like it may have the same preamp as the TRB1005 I tried the other day...didn't sound great to me tbh. Although that was after playing the thunderous BB1025x. I guess it could have been the soap bar/humbuckers in the TRB that were more to blame though. I'd like to think this sounds a lot better!
14.
I know it's not a BB, but my Attitude Special is a smudge under 4kg. Has a split P pickup and a neck woofer, 40mm nut, and a sort of J shape with less rounded edges.
Saw a couple of Attitudes hanging on the wall of the Yamaha Shop. Didn't have a play on either of them - the price tag deterred me they looked great though. Is yours passive?
15. Beautiful pair you have there! Definitely need to complete the set with one of the new PJs
16.
Look at the Schaeffer AG website: http://www.schaeffer-ag.de/en/. I've used the American sister company (Front Panel Express) many times for my DIY projects very happily. They won't do a refinish but can easily fabricate a whole new front panel with a wide variety of cosmetic options. Their CAD software is pretty simple to use and at least over here the turnaround is very fast, rarely more than a week. Probably the most old school look would be powder coating for the panel and infilled engraving for the control labels.
This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, thanks!
17. I'm in a bit of a strange situation. I love my amp & cab. They do everything I want/need and more. The trouble is visually I don't feel like they match up. Observe below: A handsome looking head. A beautiful tweed cab. But together they look a bit like I've tried to build an amp rig out of lego! Ideally I'd have a more neutral coloured head so the cab can be the focal point. Now I'm not exactly a master craftsman so I wonder if I'd be able to get someone to the refinish the faceplate in black/grey whilst retaining the lettering for the controls? Has anyone attempted a similar mod? Am I crazy for wanting to do this?
18. Oh man that is serious bass porn. Though after a few searches it doesn't seeem like Yamaha ever extended the maple board love to the 5 stringer a real tragedy. On a side note - any suggestions on where I could get a red tort pickguard made for this??
19. Why thank you. I think so too There's some wear on the neck which I'm told actually improves the feel...we shall see. I'll be posting an update and new pics once I've had a chance to have a proper play in person.
20. Right. I've laid down the ducats for this baby. 450 ducats to be precise. I should be receiving her by the end of the week fingers crossed! Pics from the seller: I can't wait :-O

22. Looks like these are becoming rarer to find on the used market these days. Fantastic Swiss Army knife multi fx with amp sims, DI out, tuner, looper, drum machine and audio interface. Glowing reviews all over the web for these units. Sadly, I've barely used mine since buying it used about a year ago so I'd rather see it go to a loving home. Comes boxed with original power supply (no manual) £95 collection/meet up (I'm based in West London but happy to meet around London) Or £100 posted
