TC Trouble

Not too sure about your knob latency issue but regarding your mac not detecting the pedal, have you got the pedal powered externally with either a power supply or 9v battery? I'm pretty sure the pedal won't receive power via the USB and therefore the mac won't "see" anything to connect to. This is certainly the case when I connect any of my TC pedals to the TonePrint editor app on my iPad!
2. I too have wondered this as I'm about to sell my Roland Fa06. Thanks for the heads up on Gearslutz and SoS
3.
The BH 800 was a massive disappointment, no beans and the Toneprints I tried were just horribly synthetic. Plenty love 'em though.
This has me worried. I'm yet to properly gig mine! I never use the TonePrints though as my pedals have that covered.
4. The fretboard alone is a thing of beauty. You sir are a very lucky man.
5.
Can't remember where I got the idea but I use the standard Tortex ones with a hole punched through the middle (use a heavy duty office hole-punch - standard flimsy ones will just bend!). You wouldn't believe the difference it makes to the grip!
This is actually a genius idea! Sadly, I doubt I'll be able to squeeze my Big Stubbys into a hole punch
6. I use a Diago "gigman" board which is basically a solidly built briefcase with a nifty detachable top half, lockable latches and Velcro lining. It comes with a roll of the other side of Velcro for the bottom of your pedals. Definitely roadworthy but once you've loaded it with pedals it ain't light! The "gigman" model I have is the smallest in the range but might be slightly bigger than you're looking for unless you're thinking of expanding your pedal collection in the future? Have a look: So 7 pedals of varying size, plus a volume pedal and enough room spare for a power supply.
7. I'm a big TC freak - aside from my bass gear I run a lot of TC Helicon vocal gear and swear by it. But on the subject of bass amplification, I have a lot of love for my BH800. More power than I'll ever need, well thought out EQ section, small and light enough to fit in the front pocket of my bass case. I do prefer the overall sound of the BH range over the RH personally.
8. Argh, that body shape! I've always loved the look of these. A Bass Direct purchase by any chance?
9. I'm not usually a fan of black precisions but this one I strangely do enjoy. Hmmm...
10. I own a PJB BigHead and while it is truly excellent at what it does there are more feature-rich (and cheaper) options out there. I havent personally tried the B1ON but owned a B3 for a while and it was great. Serious Swiss Army knife for a bassist and completely gig-worthy too. The fact it is specifically designed for bass makes it hands down a better choice than a small mixer IMO. It's an apples vs oranges comparison though really. Phil Starr speaks the truth - as a general rule the aux in on most bass amps won't sound good at all but I guess that is pretty heavily dependent on how "full range" or "transparent" your amp/cabs are.
11. Was literally just about to PM you for the meatbox. You snooze you lose I suppose...
12. Oh man...I'm a recent BB convert and this is a beautiful one! Really liking the pickguard without the metal control plate.
13. I may be nibbling at your meatbox soon. That sounded better in my head...
14. Cheers for the responses guys, all useful stuff.
15. I've been GASing for one of these for quite a while too! It'll have to wait though. I really love that you can see some wood grain through the finish.
16.
In many cases you can just use hole cutouts that are slightly bigger than the knobs, or at least the fixing nuts, if there are any. Lots of audio gear is done that way, but as always, it just depends on the specific case how feasible it is. There are outfits that make stick-on plastic overlays that are quite thin too.

If you or someone else could get the front panel off, you could consider having it covered with hydrographics
Great suggestions folks, gives me lots to think about. Much appreciated.
