Evening folks,
So this afternoon I took a trip down to the Yamaha Music store in Central London to have a look at their wares. Many a lovely instrument on show. Out of curiosity I asked if I could have a play on a lovely looking BB1025x hanging on the wall, to which the very helpful sales guy obliged. He hooked me up to a Hartke combo, explained the controls and left me to my own devices.
I had a noodle for about 5 minutes and was floored by just how good it was. It really nailed the sound I aim for when EQing my other (active) basses but achieved it with just a bit of roll off on the tone knob. Those P/J pickups are seriously no slouch - the bass is completely passive and yet had a noticeably hotter output than the active TRB hanging next to it! Plus the neck and setup was one of the nicest I've ever laid hands on, it played like butter.
So I guess my question is, can anyone think of a reason I shouldn't buy it?? I'm sure my wallet will thank you...
