It's common practice - Julia Donaldson (parents know who I mean) is appearing at a bookshop in Hebden Bridge soon; only books pre-ordered/bought from the shop will be signed. Helps the business.
Plus desperation to feel included in something - given that most of their neighbours are generally disinclined towards them. Can you imagine an Asia Minor/Middle East song contest?!
I started aged 19 at Uni, in 1995, a year after getting a guitar (ssshhh). I bought a Yamaha RBX260 (or such) - P pickup, bright red, lovely neck. I bought a Trace Boxer err 25? combo as it was on offer at Sounds Live in Newcastle where I was at Uni.
It sounded ace - just loud and noodly. I would also plug into the Zoom 4040 I had for the guitar and make all sorts of odd noises. Ah happy days.
We still won't know which Bass is best for Metal.
The new Ibanez triplecut SGXLPM39000XRT+ will have a neck so thin you need an electron microscope to find it, but will come in 42 luxury finishes.
Selling my 12 inch midi scale bass as I can’t get on with the 3lb weight in my 7 minute free improv indie gigs. Will trade for a 9 inch micro scale. Fingerboard must be concave, flat isn’t flat enough.
The top horn is a bit of an acquired taste - but I've never (ever) read a poor review of one, the Fretless versions do seem to be pretty much the top of everyone's pile, and the finishing on all of them is out of this world - even on sellers' phone cameras they look the business.
Hope he and his wife enjoy a well-earned retirement!
Yes; their finisher/painting person (Paul?) is amazingly creative. Sheldon bigs him up whenever he FB posts a new finish.
I have also not been a fan of the ‘Bird shape but the 5 string D Bird looks amazeballs.
