  1. She’s not there - The Zombies
  2. That is a really good looking bass, the woods are great and that weight is unbelievable.
  3. Handsome, great shade of blue.
  4. I went to their penultimate concert on their farewell tour. It was excellent (not the first time I’d seen them). So this is their thank you tour, I’m giving it a miss, they are good but really when you hang up your guitar you hang it up!
  5. Tony Hadley
  6. Never ever - The Action
  7. +1 for the Gibson EB5. As @snorkie635says does really good P/J as it has pull pots to change p/ups to single coil. Ultra lightweight, about 3.5kgs which is stunning for a fiver. Hugely underrated especially by Gibson Inc.
  8. I’ve thought about one often, as you say they’re not expensive. However having a NS NXT EUB ( that really is too many initials, sorry) I wonder whether I would get any use from an FEB at all?
  9. Boom, bang a bang - Lulu
  10. Aaah, that didn’t last long then. Like you loved the look of them but knew a skinny short scale was not for me either. Someone will love though.
  11. I wonder why they chose those pickups when the original had 3 lipsticks?
  12. It does kind of look as though someone at Godin looked at the basses they make (a4 & Shifter) and thought “let’s fuse them together”. Or May be someone just raided the parts bin, a factory made bitsa. I doubt we’ll see many about.
  13. Looks like someone tried to adjust it without removing and have scrunched up the scratch plate slot which typical of Fender is too small to accommodate a truss rod key.
  14. Love is in the air - John Paul Young
  15. Like @How1i changed to a Badass on a vintage 1976 Precision (sadly long gone), it was a doddle as everything just lined up. It only needed a set up. A screwdriver job.
  16. Snoopy vs the Red Baron - The Royal Guardsmen
  17. The really high end stuff and exotics don’t really appeal to me much. However I would really like to try out a Gibson Thunderbird, probably have to be a vintage one and any Rickenbacker but preferably a 4005. I don’t think I want either but a serious go on them would satisfy me, at the moment. Ask me again next week and my answer will probably be different.
  18. Nice. I’ve only ever had one brand new as well.
  19. Yuk 👎
  20. Super trooper - Abba
  21. Saw these guys in Seattle a few years ago. That Ali bass really pumped out a great thump.
  22. Lovely, reminds me of my 76 in the same finish. Shouldn’t have traded it.
  23. I was going to ask the same, we’re you stung for taxes?
  24. There’s a long tradition of political comment in lyrics. W.S. Gilbert was a dab hand at it in his operas.
  25. Wouldn’t gin work as well, but may be more expensive than buying a new set.
