  1. Helloween opened Donnington in 1988 😈
  2. which is the hallmark of all art.
  3. TBF in the USA they refer to University as 'school'.
  4. You are of course entitled to your opinion, and your feelings are valid. For me, I don't really believe Elton John thinks it's alright to fight on a Saturday night, or that The Proclaimers really would walk 1,000 miles, or that Sting really thought every little thing she did was magic. I think it's possible for a lyricist/author/screenwriter to write a story about characters, without necessarily sharing the opinions of those characters. I don't think it's necessary to agree with the sentiment of a song to perform it. Musical theatre is on my side here 🙂
  5. what are peoples preference on colour? Skin tone so they blend in, or a colour that makes them stand out?
  6. can the tuner cope with drop tunings?
  7. My old metal band from a few years ago with a song wot I wrote. During the studio sesh, I foolishly left the bass solo until last meaning my fingers were shot, so it's not exactly how I played it live. I never had a problem getting 'attack' being a finger player. Basses, always one of my Shukers. Live, depended on the gig, but usually a tuner > distortion > BDI21 > PA.
  8. I'll resist the urge to post a load of opera, and Beethoven's 9th!
  9. First post of this thread: Flea commented on how all the big rock bands such as RHCP, Metallica, Foo Fighters, U2 are still going and are the only bands that can fill big arenas. As if a wall was erected in the late 90’s and no one can get over it.
  10. nope, not one mention of horse racing
  11. I saw Bauhaus in '98. They did 4 encores. Fake or not they were awesome 😎
  12. Manowar and Orson Welles
  13. Saxon and Elton John
  14. Foo Fighters and Rick Astley
  15. According to the Beeb, Delta variant cases have risen by 75% and the Welsh First Minister reckons they're at the start of a third wave. What this actually means in real figures I don't know.
  16. Share Pederson - Vixen - could slap, pop, and tap with the best of them. I had a recording of Vixen supporting The Scorpions at Hammy O in '89 and she does an awesome bass solo. Can't think of another bassist in a mainstream band who was doing that kind of thing at the time apart from Billy Sheehan? The clip below is a bit later.
  17. from 16 secs from the beginning
  18. Tell that to the The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit 😉 https://www.forbes.com/sites/legalentertainment/2018/12/14/controversial-blurred-lines-suit-ends-in-5-million-verdict/?sh=32da2caf6ffe
  19. Depends what is meant by 'influential'. Sid Vicious probably inspired a lot of people to play bass.
  20. if it ain't Big Jim, it ain't Faith No More!
  21. Led Clones, on the After the War album, sung by Ozzy Osbourne.
