  1. Asked if he played for the man in the street, the late, former Sex Pistol said: “Nah, I’ve met the man in the street - and he’s a ****.”
  2. @Steve Lawson "There are no secrets, here's how it's done". Also, when holding aloft a bass "this does not come with an instruction manual".
  3. Flattley Bass Poison Ivy. Boutique pedal and price, but worth every penny. https://flattleyguitarpedals.com/product/bass-poison-ivy-bass-fuzz/
  4. Best: Twisted Sister, at the Rock and Blues Custom Bike Rally 2004. Worst: Guns n Roses, Donnington 1988. Not because they were bad, but because that was when the 2 fans died.
  5. Does Sonrisa Salvaje by Dave Lee Roth count?
  6. I was never a fan of Gunge, particularly not of any the bands that became big, but some of the bands who came before were great, like Mudhoney:

  13. Set me free - Saxon I love rock and roll - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Tainted love - Soft Cell
  14. Eye of the Tornado - Megadeth. It's just relentless, especially if like me you are a fingers player. Definitely one not to be played as a set opener, need to be proper warmed up.
  15. I've seen the review vids for these and they seem primarily for dance type music. Can they do decent rock/pop kits?
  16. Christine Aguilera ripped off Dee Snider from Twisted Sister. Image wise anyway...
  17. Because you know what it is really about?
  18. Yup but the support band for the UK tour was The Killer Dwarfs.
  19. Helloween opened Donnington in 1988 😈
  20. which is the hallmark of all art.
  21. TBF in the USA they refer to University as 'school'.
  22. You are of course entitled to your opinion, and your feelings are valid. For me, I don't really believe Elton John thinks it's alright to fight on a Saturday night, or that The Proclaimers really would walk 1,000 miles, or that Sting really thought every little thing she did was magic. I think it's possible for a lyricist/author/screenwriter to write a story about characters, without necessarily sharing the opinions of those characters. I don't think it's necessary to agree with the sentiment of a song to perform it. Musical theatre is on my side here 🙂
