1.
I think it might be this. During the solo Sadao Watanabe's face is pricelss. Top, top band as well.
Fantastic solo. And as you mentioned earlier - epic music stands. That one is like a windbreak
2.
Cant help you directly with that song But I tend to listen / watch some bass covers / lessons on youtube and see how they do it See how it sounds when they play it
Tabs only really work in conjunction with the recorded piece. Along with not showing rhythm, it's standard form that they will be occassionally wrong, so they're at best a guide to get you started. Tab sites are the worst. Even published tab books are only created by someone sat down trying their best to decipher what is played, there's no more science than that most of the time.
3. Someone with proper musical knowledge will be along shortly.
4.

Missed opportunity video. We want to see his left hand, not his jazz / (jizz) face!
5.
No Funkapolitan fans out there then?
when people talk about 'white man funk', they're the benchmark. Actually not too far from a lot of current function bands.
6. Yeah looks overly reliced - must be limelight! Good move for them and for him when he joined. Earned them a touch more respect - a band member who is both technically brilliant, and has a higher credibility than the rest of them put together. And no one could argue that it wasn't nice to see a player like that hit the payday jackpot of joining the Metallica machine. Great to see him riffing around the original stuff like that.
7. If we're also talking about new stuff - Michael Christmas is worth checking. He deserves to break though this year. His last album is free (!) >> http://www.audiomack.com/album/michael-christmas/is-this-art Ace videos as well > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElHLgaXIZgg
8. Back to the OP - had a weird turn of fate the other week. Fairly well oiled in a tiny pub in Ramsgate, people dancing away to an extended version of The Message. Got talking to the DJ and turned out it was Skip McDonald ! He lives in the area and hosts a night there once a month. Naturally we then had a drunk (well I was drunk) conversation about Doug Wimbish. Pub is Queen Charlotte, Ramsgate. Any BC'ers ever in the area PM me and I'll join you for a pint.
9. Great bass, enjoy. Everyone I know who owns one swears by them. 'All the bass you'll ever need'
10.
https://adblockplus.org/
Hi Ped - does AdBlock remove the embedded video ads that precede a YouTube vid?
11. ha. Yeah YouTube ads in general, bloody annoying, esp when you get one of those 30 second ones you can't skip. If its something I need to watch a few times (usually learning a cover) I've taken to downloading the video thorugh eu.savefrom.net
12. Every days a schoolday on BC 'Wormworth has served as a touring bass player for Sting and Wayne Shorter, Cyndi Lauper, Phyllis Hyman, jazz great Regina Carter, vocal phenom Rachelle Ferrell and Joan Osborne, as well as the B-52s.'
13. First step to becoming GAS-free would be leaving BC Hard to stop thinking about buying new stuff when you're surrounded by likeminded people selling stuff, talking about buying stuff, and showing what they've bought.
14.
Tip: If your doing a stage-less bar gig this weekend and you value your pedal board, cover it with saran wrap or something to cover it. I would hate to hear about a pitcher of beer being spilled on someones pedals. Blue
I thought it probably was - but for all us Limeys :- 'Saran Wrap' = cling film
15.
Hold on kids!!!!!!!!! The version in the op is NOT the original TV version. It is a version by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
It's loads better! God bless you ma'am
16. Never noticed that before, great shout. Love that section from 1:10
17. I'm on my second (headphones pulled one way, Amplug the other, and the socket broke). 3 rhythms to play along to, you can adjust the tempo and volume mix. 3 FX - Boost, Clean and Compressor. Scant instructions so someone may be along to correct me. Audio In jack really useful for playing along with. Not the strongest build quality but good enough for the price.
18. Brilliant! what a paint job / scratchplate. Bootsy would be proud
19. The problem with the youth of today is they're rude, selfish, and don't appreciate real music! **BC Irony Meter to Amber alert**
20.
I'm one of the few that has changed my mind. When the Limelight basses first came to my attention I viewed them in much the same way as the OP, and couldn't get past the idea of them being snidey counterfeits. Then I did a lot more reading and looking. I'll admit that I haven't actually played a Limelight bass yet, but I now buy into their ethos. I think it is the overall quality that has swayed me, as well as the fact that they offer so many user-choice options that Fender do not. Many BC members (whose opinions I trust) state that their Limelight bass is the best or one of the best basses they have played - and that really means something (unless they are all being paid to say so of course! ). Currently I have four jazz basses and no real need for any more... But I could maybe do with a P bass... Would I consider a Limelight? Absofeckinlutely!
+1
21.
I would view that as a positive thing, means they're less likely to spend their time rehashing all the old rock'n'roll cliches that have already been done to death a thousand times over.
..or maybe that's exactly what they'll do, thinking they're being original.
22. Hens teeth. You sure you want to sell it?
23. What do we think of bands that use guitar stands?
24.
Have I got this round the wrong way ? I thought vintage basses had to be mint to get top prices and re-issues had to be relic-ed to cost more. Still confused by the relic idea.
There's something in that. Most 'reliced' basses look way more battered than a lot of actual vintage instruments, esp at the top end. Bottom line is, if you're happy with the bass, then its the right one for you. There's no 'wrong' choices if the player loves the instrument. Even BC Rich are still in business.
