Its probably because your using a picture of my girlfriend :-)
Did you want me to bring a bass down for you to try Dave? I dont mind...as long as she is in the house.
I had one of these years back. I thought it was quite a 'trebly' sound. I couldnt beleive it was just a 1x10 (plus horn?).
I managed to trade it for a decent value and not lose too much. I did like it, but realised it wasnt really capable of keeping up with an entire loud band.
Good combo though, my first 'real' high quality amp/combo.
Is this the same guy who plays a fair whack of Chili Peppers tracks on various Rays/etc? I cant access it as Im at work, but if its the same guy im thinking of (possibly French) he is fantastic.

Butt fck ugly DIY looking cabs are the new cool though... apparently. Call me vain but I'll pass I think.
I agree, but this one seems a little more finished.
Thats standard - the non-aligned edge. My '72 Precision has that and is still the nicest bass I've ever played. Not an issue for me!
That non-aligned edge turned up on a Stingray Classic I bought...is there a reason for it?
I think it would be no problem, apart from a 3-4 month wait, to get a 2 band Stingray with Pau Ferro board, in exactly that colour. Porbbaly be around £1200 new unfortunately. I imagine they are pretty rare second hand.
I am actually thinking about trying fretless, and an EBMM would be exactly what Im after (not sure which bass yet). Is it difficult to learn?
I think in this climate it will hold its value for a definite.
With it being one of the last German-made cersions, I doubt you'd lose anything.
If the bass market has a u-turn, you might make a little on it in a few years, but at the moment it is flooded.
Is a Ray fretless on your list?
Id like to try and get to see your band up in Newcastle actually...saw you with Alk Trio I think....few months back. Great live sound and hooks all over the place.
Im no speaker tech guru, but there is some information on why he used the PA type horn on the review.
Its weird looking, I must admit...but it does look almost like its come from a hi tech factory and not by a very small cab manufacturer.
Old thread! This has happened to me recently, with EARPLUGS! It happens when we are in small room and the PA is pushing out the vocals really high....I have no ringing in my ears though as they are protected by plugs.

New super duper 112 'review' from KJUng on Talkbass.
I really like how over-engineered and precise it looks....and the fact it does look pretty professionally made and not DIY.
I wonder if anyone will take the plunge here?
Im curious as to how different the ceramics vs alnico really is.
Mine Ray 5 HS is an alnico, and it sounds fantastic. However, I would like a ceramic version as well....(eg a Sterling 5).
Certainly seem to be a lot of love and hate for these basses.
Since I first saw one, years ago, they have been slowly creeping up on me.
Ill probably do something boring like get another Ray 5.
