1. Any more ideas on this? Has anyone used the Promethean 1x10 with a drummer?
2. The footswitch IS worth it with this amp. I sometimes find they are just expensive luxuries, but this pedal oozes quality like the amp! Great to have three presets, a more precise tuner and a mute at your feet! I didnt know what to expect with the RS cabs, as they, at first, were quite low prices. Now they have caught on that they are actually well praised, the prices have increased a little. I still think the RS210 is a fantastic cabinet. Small, fairly light, smooth treble response, and looks like a well engineered product. Try and look for the new finish if possible. Even the covers are cheap compared to other cabinets.
3. Yeah Attack Attack from Wales are actually a really good band! Nice bass!
4. Id try: Squier CV P If you can afford it: Fender Precision American Standard - The one I currently own is probably the nicest P Ive played...although Ive not played a real vintage yet.
5. Id be up for a visit up North again even though Im not due to move back for another year...still miss Newcastle on a daily basis.
6. I'm actually quite shocked how great the prices are on the Streamliners...theyve crammed a lot into the amp: http://www.bassmerchant.com/item_detail.ph...p;category_id=2 That's the cheapest I've seen so far.
7. Hopefully with a big of fiddling you will get there. I do hear the Genz DIs being higher quality than the Mark Bass, but who knows?!
8. Nah I wouldnt use it for carrying, just for protection when its in the back of the new acoustic bands van...which is normally filled with other bits and bobs as well.
9. If I see one for the original £499 with delivery and gig bag ill probably snap it up.
10. I noticed the Squier P!
11. Yep, both can be removed. From personal experience Genz amps are great but the SL series gives me that HEFT that I need as a bassist. The Shuttles are great for the player who wants that tone, and the 9.0 has more beef to the bottom end. If I ever get a small combo, it would be the Ibanez. Total bargain price, and more power should you remove it compare to the 3.0.
12. Great that for once the cheaper option is better!
13. It's now off back to S&T to see what they are going to do!
14. I tried all variables, so now unfortunately its off back to be checked out.
15. WOW! Now thats a Jazz. Much prefer to see a rosewood board with blocks cf to maple.
16. Have you tried the combo without the extension? Might be an idea. Sell the cab if its not getting use.
17. That bass, and the string spacing, look absolutely massive.
18. I cant read music at all, well I could a little, and earned a few grades and a GCSE (A Grade somehow!), but now? Nope. I should learn, but I know I have too much else going on.
19. Where has this thread come from?! Yesterday I swapped my days off and stayed in for a courier and I was relieved when they picked up the parcels for return at 16:45.
20. Good deal if it is new.
21. I think in terms of quality the MB will slay the GK gear! I'd stick with it.
22. We shall find out tomorrow. May just be the earth wire.
23. Cheers chaps. Im in a better mood now I know the SL900 and RH750 replacements are already on their way from TC/Genz. It was bad weekend discovering 3 faults! The 2EQ Ray should hopefully be a very very simple check over....
24.
2 months will fly by, you'll get sorted
Thanks! Yeah, it will go quickly.
25. Yep, either I'm unlucky or too fussy. But the power supply issue was really dodgy. Tried it again last night hoping I'd made a mistake, but still there. The Shuttle 9 I had did not have a straight chassis. I checked it on every surface in my house and it would not sit straight, so it rocked about all the time. If still like another. Weirdly, the two amps I sold were flawless (lm3 and rh450) so I was annoyed to spend more and have two amps with issues. Fender UK have confirmed my resplacement is on it's way from the US now. Good chaps. So, a box with my 750 and sl900 are on their way back to Bass Merchant for replacements....as well as my 6 month old immaculate 2EQ ray that has a very loud buzz coming from it, (again tried all variables, different power, new battery, compared it to the other basses, 2eq still noisy). All in all a massive annoyance Hopefully in two months I'll have everything sorted out.
