1. Hi mate, welcome to the mad-house.
2. Awesome, thanks for posting this, I'm picking it up on Monday :-) Always wanted one of these, seems like a lot of bass for the money, even at retail. Perfect fixer-upper :-)
3.
May have bought a shorty.. Really do not need one.
I love this thread. edit: just saw you missed out, sorry bud :-( edit #2: my acoustic was perfect too, tested and inspected - no fault found.
4. I have bought one bass and sold one through the 'for sales'. I was inspired to buy one of the Thomman Deko basses by the 'Dekos' thread. I have bought three amps, a cab and a couple of pedals. Not bad for just over a years membership! edit: sorry, make that two Dekos from Thomman!
5. 'Quantity 1 available' Probably one too many...
6. It's playing on't radio at the moment. If I've got 10% of their energy when I'm 70, I'll be a happy bunny. Brilliant. Proper old rockers. Knocks Kanye into a cocked hat for sure.
7. My cheapie Harley Benton deko. Was about £45 delivered if I recall. Love it to pieces, and more so because it was as cheap as chips. 8.
If I was at Glastonbury I'd DEFINITELY be going to see Kanye. He's the biggest rockstar on the planet.
...or so he told us :-) I should have been going to Wem-ber-ley tomorrow to see those pesky Foos, so I'm a bit cheesed that the Grohl is broken. Was also looking forward to Royal Blood, since I am mostly a Brighton lad (and they're awesome!) I don't mind a dash of Florence but she can be a bit screechy. But then Dave Grohl can be a bit shouty. Is she a good replacement for the Foos? Depends on whether you like screechy and shouty I guess...

I bought a Trace amp from Eddy this week. He was very easy and friendly to deal with, and packed the amp very well for my courier to collect. A simple, straightforward, friendly transaction. And the amp is a fine little thing
10. Dad has said it all, I liked it a lot. Well done folks :-)
11.
I can't justify it...
Me neither, but only because I already own one. Don't know how they do it for the money.
12. Had a Peavey 1516e for a long while. I miss the sound, I don't miss the 45kg. Loved it.
13. Good for you mate, well done :-)
14. I sold my Bassman valve amp a while back and it was packed to within an inch of its life. I took the valves out that didn't have retainers, wrapped them separately in bubblewrap and stashed them securely back inside the amp case. Then I wrapped the whole amp with a couple of layers of bubblewrap and put it inside a close-fitting box. Sealed with tape. That box I then packed into another, much bigger box with the 'prawn cracker' type packing stuff. That gave me two solid layers of protection. About two hours work, all in. However I knew it would survive anything the courier network could throw at it. It took the bloke that bought it about twenty minutes to get it out!
15. You look happy mate, nice one! The bass looks awesome, I can't remember seeing one in that colour before. Slightly (!) ot, what's occurring on your fence? :-)
16. I agree that it's an awful way for a new bass (or anything) to be delivered, and it seems there are plenty of similar stories. However this is only the handling that you see - I would bet that every package has a similarly hard time while it is in the delivery network, it's just you don't normally get to see the 'abuse' unless something like this occurs. There just isn't time for everything to be handled gently and carefully on the off-chance it might be delicate. We've seen the hidden-camera footage of warehouse staff playing parcel football haven't we? I totally understand why you are upset (I would be too!), but I'm sure Thomman have packed it sufficiently well that it will survive. Try not to let it detract from your NBD mate :-)
17. Oooh deary me, that's lovely. Great colour combo. GAS indeed!
18. It's fantastic, well done on getting it finished. Have you named it yet? Love it, what a great project.
