1. Thanks to a mate mentioning it, I have rediscovered American Idiot. Love it, and can't believe it's ten years old this year. I'm usually on a little nostalgia trip somewhere though, most of the music I own is at least this old.
2.
MORE technical knowledge + LESS nonsensical hype = BETTER SOUND ! ! !
Well this is all good in theory, it's just a shame the listing is full of....er....nonsensical hype. And lol at the 'almost no distortion' switch, sounds very much like a DFA knob to me. Gotta love eBay comedy.
3.
Very nice in fact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qvLtxke7m4 I think so anyway .
I think so too. And I quite liked his nails, but they didn't distract me from his excellent playing.
4. Now that is a gig that may just have to be done...
5. And if I hadn't just bought one, I'd prolly be up for that. £75 - crikey!
6. I considered Gumtree when I sold my Bassman 70 recently, and tbf I think I'd have got the willies about all and sundry potentially being in my house. The advice about hallways and having a mate round is all good. I just put mine on eBay in the end, offered postage (yes, on a 35 year old valve amp!), had buckets of interest and sold it to a lovely fella. If you're gonna go eBay though I would say you will only get the best money if you're prepared to ship.
7. Isn't every amp too small? The Vox thingy isn't terrible, it's just lacking in the trouser department after 15" of Peavey and the valve Fender. Still, better than a prod in the eye eh? A 3rd bass you say? Now that sounds tempting... Don't they say that things in groups of an odd number look better than even? *reaches for wallet edit:- and thanks again everyone for your kind welcomes.
8. Ha-ha no it's not great is it? Doubled sounds like lots doesn't it - but 2 is only an ickle number... and three is only one more, innit ;-)
9. Thanks fellas. I've just doubled the bass occupants of my house by getting the Yam, so I'll see how that goes down. I was 'encouraged' to part with my big Peavey cab and Fender valve head recently, so I think I can wing having another bass in the house. Just. To be fair it was too big but it was bloody lovely. Ten years? Is that all? Good job I'm a patient chap then...
10. Hi folks, New to the site this pm having had a bit of a lurk for a while. There's been a bass in my house for ages but I've not had the inclination to play until recently, now I have some buddies to mess around with it's a lot more fun. A few weeks back I bought a Yamaha RBX374, which is a lovely thing and we seem to be getting on just fine. Got a little Vox combo that doesn't make nearly enough noise tbh, but is compact enough for my wife to almost not notice. A happy wife is worth the compromise I reckons, for now at least. She'll learn, eventually. Or just give in probably... bless 'er. So I'm a noob to the site and pretty much a bass-noob too. Cheers
