1. Very nice. I didn't watch the vid, just played the audio in the background.
2. I like the way you have just repaired & restored as necessary rather than 're-manufactured to look new'- it still looks like a very old guitar, and the better for it. And it has its voice back! Superb craftsmanship.
3. Hi mate, welcome to the site, I'm another East Sussex oik.
4. Jon is all that's good about the bc marketplace; friendly, trustworthy and rapid-o with the postage. I bought Jon's Big Muff (oo-err missus) - it arrived quickly and well packaged. A firm recommendation from me. Many thanks
5. I somehow have ended up with four, I'm another bc-er that just had one when he joined... BB424X, amazing for the money, it's a little bulky but I love it. J&D jazz, bought mostly because of green / black hardware / black blocks. On the upside it's nice to play and sounds lovely. Two HB deko's, an acoustic and a PB20. Both bought for under a ton. Acoustic is nicer than the p, and good fun if enormous. With some spare cash I could have lots and lots; I don't go near guitar shops for this reason...
6.
I think we should start a register of the weight of every single BC'ers bass. <snip> It could form an invaluable database of the weights of basses.
http://basschat.co.uk/topic/241849-weight-of-basses Someone... *holds up hand* suggested that in this thread a while back But I agree that if the weight of a bass for sale were put into the fs thread, this thread probably wouldn't exist in the first place.
7. O M G That's got to have been some SERIOUS MONEY!
8. I bought a pedal from Mick, it was very well packaged and delivered quickly. Mick is prompt with his messaging and I would deal with him again. Many thanks
9. Rig fully pimped. Cheesy but brilliant.
10.
OK then, that's the next thing I now stupidly want.
Doh - that's the thing I stupidly sold! I had a Bassman 70, kept it for years when I wasn't playing and sold it about three years ago. She was a lovely old thing, and silly loud. Gas-ing for another one now. Awesome aren't they?
11. I would say you've fulfilled your obligations perfectly well. If you've sent it recorded, the postie should leave a card and take the package back to the depot. At least they will have some idea of where the package is. Your buyer may be able to retrieve the card and collect the package, but to be honest it's his lookout if he can't maintain his PayPal account details. That's not meant to sound harsh, but you've done your bit.
12. Mine is speakon only. If I recall correctly the dual jack/speakon connectors are green and stick out of the amp casing a bit more, and the speakon only ones are black.
13. A top review duck, and a great ickle jewel of an amp. I've had one for a year or so and to be honest, I still don't know where they keep all the loud. It's just as happy at home being a headphone amp or driving my TC BC212, or plugging up to a battered rehearsal-room 4x10 and making some proper noise. My buddies think I'm taking the Michael when I wander in with it swinging from one little finger... Love it. How do they do it for the money? I keep thinking that I 'need' to upgrade to an MB500 or something 'louder', when in fact the MB200 is just perfect.
14. Aaah, my first bass was one of these, bought from a previous incarnation of GAK if I recall. Sadly mine had a neck like a Quaver and wasn't really worth repairing. (edit: it wasn't bent when I bought it, just realised my comments may look like a moan at GAK; ftr GAK are great) I would pimp the hell out of yours and build a wolf in sheeps clothing.
15.
And what an enormous relief that is ...
Yup. I was sooooo tempted, it looks like such a nice bass. I would however have been swiftly despatched by the Mrs to the big bass-bash in the sky...
16. Hi Paul, welcome to the site *waving at phone* ☺
17.
I appreciate some people have back problems and then...
I'm one of those; I damaged my back at work about 20 years ago. I have to be careful with the weight and lifting technique of everything I carry. Having a heavier-than-necessary bass hanging off one shoulder would be a show-stopper. But then for me, that applies to bags of shopping, tools, boxes of stuff, etc etc. It's not just basses. Fwiw, I'm surprised that more for sale threads here don't list the weight, as someone always asks, and usually for good reason.
18. Bob I've not really got anything useful to add bud, but this sounds like an exciting opportunity to test yourself in a new environment and have some fun at the same time. I agree in playing a song from their set-list; at least they will know where the song is going if you have 'a moment'. If I were in your shoes, I'd would rather use a stand and get to the end of the song than lose my way - that would be much worse. Have the band got any YouTube stuff up? All the best mate - have a blast!
19. I didn't think I'd watch it all, but found it enthralling. Good work!
