1. Can we have a 'comedy rants' section, where this sort of thread can be moved to?
2. I can recommend the SBL full membership too, there's acres of great stuff there.
3.
For live gigs I prefer the fuller tone of a hearty treacle sponge. However for recording straight into the desk a tangy lemon tart is much more suitable
Best, most sensible post in the whole thread. Mmmm, lemon tart...
4. Is it 'goad a troll Saturday' by any chance? IBTL...
5. Play a note that makes the noise, then lift your amp up off the cab.
6. If ever there was an excuse for 'needing' another bass, surely this is it Suggestions? I'm a bit of a Yammy nut so I would predictably say BB1024X - top kit for sensible money.
7. @ discreet - ^^ it was gonna be you or me... Either way, that sounds mighty painful.
8. Looks like a neat idea, nice and simple. Is it just me, or this a worried-looking robot...?
9. I just love the sound of it - I wasn't inspired by one player in particular. I liked that big, warm sound that I could feel as well as hear. My folks bought me an acoustic guitar when I was probably too young to play it properly and that really put me off guitars altogether. I've still got one but it doesn't get a look in when there's BASS to play!
10. ^^^ oooh, now that's nice. ...or am I just odd?
11.
That is one [s]fugly[/s] stunning-looking bass. Thanks for posting it up, you've really made my day.
Fixed.
12. I don't think you mad to want it, it's bloody gorgeous. The colour, the blocks, and tuners; all pretty yummy. I even like the matching headstock, and I don't usually rate them at all. At that price however, even if you were a U2 fan, you may be a bit nuts. I'm put off by what looks like his sig on the headstock, that's a bit cheesy imo. If it wasn't for the sig, I'd want one too.
13.
Your timing is terrible.
I know, I really should practise more... ;-) Thanks for your kind words :-)
14. 'Facebook likes disappearing' - oh if only it would!
15. That's looking very tasty, and not showing its 35+ years at all! Good find :-)
16. I would suggest that looks like a kit-built valve amp, sans valves. Sorry, I can't be more help though. Looks like a good find for a boot sale :-)
17. A nice clean Fender CD60 acoustic 6 string guitar. Lovely clean sound, in excellent undamaged condition. Comes in dusty but sound Warwick Rockbag gigbag. I just don't get the time to play it to be honest, so it's best it goes to someone who will. Perfect for beginner or office-strummage. I'm looking for £60 including shipping to UK mainland addresses. I will take the pesky Paypal if you cover the fees, or a bank transfer is fine too. Any questions please drop me a message, thanks. Price drop £50, still includes uk shipping. THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD.
18. THIS BASS HAS BEEN SOLD. Hi folks, now I really don't want to sell this lovely thing. But the self-imposed 'something in, something out' policy means she's up for sale. Yamaha RBX374 4 string active bass in blacker-than-your-hat black. A fine, undamaged example. I'm the second owner - the first chap has clearly looked after it, as it's very tidy indeed. Zero damage anywhere, just a couple of small 'signs of use' marks, and a tiiiiiny bit of buckle rash (really tiny). All pots operate smoothly and quietly. Tuners operate smoothly and it holds tune for ages. Plays nicely, a great and underrated bass, more than suitable for a beginner, like wot I was (and still am!) when I bought it a year or so ago. Legendary Yamaha build quality, it really is as solid as a rock. And it rocks! New battery fitted this morning. She tips the scales at 3.8Kg / 8.5lbs. Neck width at the nut is 40mm, string spacing is 19mm at the bridge pup (as close as I can measure anyway). There is a little fret wear under the E string at the top end, but it's never worried me too much. Comes in an as-new Ritter gig-bag. I'm happy to carefully pack and ship this bass within the mainland UK included in the price. I will take the 'dreaded' Paypal if you cover the fees, or I will accept a transfer. Straight sale, no trades thanks. Ping me a pm, it's gotta go!
