The interesting thing with a round neck would be if you could rotate it around to have a fretless side. But then the frets would be in the way of your hand:(

Well for me anyway, it does all I'd want from a stingray plus a little more.
This bass is the sh*t!!!! I have a blue one! God they are nice to play. I had an Ernie ball stingray before, and I much prefer my SB14 I don't feel any difference in quality, it does a perfect stingray sound and also has more great tone variations.
Red isn't available any more so don't think about it for too long if you're temped.
I really like my Sterling SB14 you can get quite a variety if sounds out if it, it has a satin neck and second hand they are very well priced. Got mine for 400.
