1. I fit a thumbrest on my tacoma and it really closed the gap between that and the comfort of an electric.
2. These days there really seems to be no need to own a crap bass and no real need to spend over 450 for a great quality bass eg. a USA SUB, Japanese Fender, I have a mind blowingly nice sterling sb14 with a nordstrand pickup that I bought for 395 and it could serve me forever if need be. Having said that I bought 7 basses since, a couple more expensive ones... but I didn't 'need' them.
3. Man that's a great price and a great bass. I have a 5 string P type sandberg, top bananas.
4. Aww that'd the twin to my SUB 5 but I got too too many basses.
5. I got a couch strap!! top quality and mine was about £40
6.
Matt, Does it look like a regular jazz knob plate would fit this bass? The rounded one on the J&D is putting me off a bit. Yes, I know I'm shallow. Cheers, GH
I know what you mean. I was thinking about having someone experienced file it into shape.
7.
Man, I really want (but have zero actual need for; is this the dreaded GAS...?) a P bass that I can drag around with me and not stress about. The super cheap price and excellent noises people are making are tempting... I also want a 'project' guitar that I can learn about setting up actions, bridge and neck positions, electronic fiddling etc... It seems like this could be it. Anyone have any experience with the P version? I'm glad you are so pleased Mattmit!
I'm gonna buy the P on payday. Be irresponsible not to at that price eh! The review on the website is v good.
8. I've got a tanglewood one as well, it feels much more compromised in playability than this one. And the string tension is too low. On the J&D the string tension was a little slack so I used a couple of ball ends off old strings as spacers to add length to each string at the bridge.
9. I took the scratchplate off to sand off the coating of tortoiseshell and was pretty pleased to see there was no routing underneath! I'm going to keep it naked for a while until I get bored of it, then on with the white plate. Next to my regular jazz for scale comparison. The body doesn't look loads different but the neck is much shorter.
10.
Dudi, don't do this to me. It matches my Limelight Precision perfectly. I don't need another bass. I don't need another bass. I don't need another bass.
Oh man, getting a limelight precision/jazz pair was the best decision I ever made.
11.
can be yours easily
No I mean, these basses are super! I ain't selling my one. I realise now that I gave my original comment very little context!! Anyway, Great bass!!!
12. Waaaat? Nobody's getting MY limelight J.
13.
Cheers Smuggling a bass onto the family holiday means widthways in the 3ft 7 car boot. This seems like the cheapest option out there.
Cheap and really great quality too. *fffffffstillatwork!!
14. Nut is 39mm, E-G & Bridge is 58mm. I only have a ruler here so I can't measure the length of the bass
15. I'm finding out the measurements cos a bunch of people are asking. I'll post when I can cos I'm super fkin busy at work. Still at work now.
16. Sorry about the wonky pics, at least it's wonky the right way round
17. Holy crap, can't believe how cool this bass is. http://m.musicstore.de/it_IT/ITL/Jack-and-Danny-JB-Mini-SFG-Surf-Green/art-BAS0007169-000 Dirt cheap, arrived in 5 days. Very well made, alder body, all the frets, although it's a little hard to reach right at the top compared to my regular jazz bass the the same number of frets. It's the perfect size, not so small you can't play it just as well as any other bass. I have a feeling the pickups are stock size so you could even upgrade if you wanted, although it sounds good already. Totally pleased with this.
18. Hi there Rumple! What's crackin'? I don't have one and I don't know what it is. Hope that helps. Xxx
19. Man its making me feel irresponsible not to buy it at that price.
20. You guyses gasses all look woefull pricey! This is what I want.. http://m.musicstore.de/it_IT/ITL/Jack-and-Danny-JB-Mini-SFG-Surf-Green/art-BAS0007169-000

22. I'm only looking to swap my pickup for a white one, or if you can point me in the direction of a white version I'll be happy to sell it. It's the soap bar type with no ears and alnico poles.
23.
Wow. Didn't expect them to do that!
I guess there are only so many ways to update the stingray without changing it's look. I'd like to see a 4 string with the bevelled contours of the 5 string. That would be a relatively huge update to the style.
